Thank you for sharing what happened and for asking for prayer. I am so grateful to hear that no one was hurt in this fender bender. Driving in an unfamiliar part of a large city can be very disorienting, and it is easy to misread a one way street that looks like a two way. God sees the confusion and the stress that followed, and He cares about both the big and the small burdens you carry.
It is understandable to feel anxious about what comes next with the insurance company and the possibility of a rate increase. Financial pressure is one of the common ways anxiety grows. When we feel trapped by circumstances we cannot control, we can lose sight of God in the equation. The Psalms give us a helpful question to ask ourselves, why are you cast down and disquieted within me, and then the answer, hope in God. Putting God back into the situation does not make the problem disappear, but it reminds us that He is present and able to work. We do not need to put Him in a box or decide in advance how He must act. In the law God even made a provision for the cleansing of a leper, though leprosy was considered incurable, leaving room for Himself to do a miracle if He desired. That shows His heart to leave room to work as He chooses. We can give Him that room now and trust Him with the outcome with the insurance.
Scripture also speaks of finding favor in the eyes of others, as Esther did when she came before the king. We can pray that God would grant you favor as the claim is reviewed and as decisions are made about your rates. We will pray that those handling your case would act fairly and with understanding, and that any increase would be limited and manageable.
Above all, we thank God for His one true provision for our deepest need, the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ. Just as those bitten in the wilderness were told simply to look at the bronze serpent and live, we are invited to look in faith to Jesus and live. When we have received that provision, we can trust the same God who provided for our souls to care for our daily needs as well. The Holy Spirit bears witness to that truth and assures us that we are heard when we call on Him.
So we are praying for you, for peace to replace anxiety, for wisdom as you navigate the paperwork and conversations ahead, and for the Lord to intervene in a way that reflects His mercy and care. May you know His presence and His help in this very practical matter, and may your heart rest in hope in Him.
