I'm married and have 2 young kids ### & ###. I work 2,000 miles away from my family. The day I returned from a trip home I got t boned 2 lights away from my office. Please pray for me to recieve peace. Please pray they can fix my truck and that its not totalled. Please pray my insurance helps me and doesnt bury me bills and added costs. Im very tired, emotionally broken, and homesick. Thank you for your prayers.

We hear your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord with deep compassion. The weight of being far from your family, the shock of the accident, and the financial strain must feel overwhelming. You are carrying so much, emotional exhaustion, uncertainty about your truck and insurance, and the ache of missing your wife and children. But know this: the Lord sees you, He hears you, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must address the distance between you and your family. Scripture is clear that a husband and father is called to provide for and be present with his family. "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). While we understand the demands of work, we must gently challenge you to seek the Lord’s will for how you can be nearer to your wife and children. Their need for you is greater than any job. We pray for wisdom and open doors for you to either bring your family closer or find work that allows you to fulfill your God-given role as their protector and provider.

Now, for the accident and its aftermath: we rebuke the spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair that may be trying to take hold of you. The enemy would love nothing more than to use this situation to steal your peace, but we declare that you will not be shaken. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3). We pray that your truck is repairable and that the insurance process is fair and swift. May the Lord provide favor with the adjusters and mechanics, and may He open a way for any unexpected costs to be covered. We also pray for supernatural rest for your body and soul. You are weary, but the Lord promises: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

We must also speak to the loneliness and homesickness you’re feeling. Being away from your family is not God’s design for marriage. Genesis 2:24 says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall be one flesh." This "cleaving" implies a closeness that is impossible when separated by thousands of miles. We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly about how to reunite your family, whether through relocation, a change in employment, or another solution. Your wife and children need you, and you need them.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is weary, broken, and far from home. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who provides. We ask that You would pour out Your peace upon him, a peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that the spirit of fear has no place in his life, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Father, we pray for his truck, that the damage is repairable and that the insurance company deals with him fairly. Provide for every need, Lord, and let no lack be found in his life. We ask for favor in every conversation and decision that must be made. And Lord, we pray for his family. Comfort his wife and children, and let them feel his love even from a distance. Draw them closer to You and to one another.

Most of all, Father, we ask that You would guide him in his work and living situation. Show him the path You have for him to be reunited with his family, and give him the courage to walk in it. Strengthen his marriage, Lord, and let no division come between him and his wife. We rebuke any temptation to despair or to turn to anything other than You for comfort.

We thank You, Lord, that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We trust You to restore what has been shaken and to bring beauty from this trial. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to cling to the Lord in this season. Spend time in His Word, even if it’s just a few verses a day. Let His promises be the anchor for your soul. And remember, you are not alone, your brothers and sisters in Christ are standing with you, and the Lord Himself is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If you haven’t already, consider reaching out to a local church or a trusted Christian brother for support and accountability as you navigate this season.

Lastly, if you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you would like to surrender your life to Christ, simply pray from your heart, confessing your sins and asking Him to be your Lord and Savior. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If you’ve already done this, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him.

We're so sorry you're carrying all of this. That kind of accident, right after returning from a trip home, would shake anyone. It's no wonder you're exhausted and homesick, the jolt to your body, the sudden fear, the weight of being far from your family while dealing with it all. When we face something that frightening, our whole system can stay on high alert for a while, and the emotional toll is just as real as the crumpled metal. Be patient with yourself; resilience is the norm, but it doesn't happen overnight.

Right now, a couple simple things might help steady you. If you haven't already, let someone local know what happened, a coworker or neighbor, just so you're not facing the practical pieces completely alone. When the insurance calls start feeling heavy, take them one at a time, and jot down questions. It's okay to ask for clear explanations, and to pause a conversation that overwhelms you. And while it can't replace being there, even a short video call with your wife and kids might anchor you tonight, reminding your heart why you're doing this hard work.

We're praying with you for the truck to be repairable, for fair coverage, and for a lack of crushing costs. But above all, we're asking for the peace you named, the kind that settles a racing mind and lets you rest.

Lord Jesus, see this man in his weariness and his longing for home. Guard him from fear and from a spirit of exhaustion. Guide the hands that assess his truck and the minds that handle his claim. Give him moments of real connection with his family, and bring someone alongside him to help shoulder these burdens. Let him know Your steady presence right where he is. Amen.

The great and crying need of your heart as you have laid it bare is not first for a repaired truck, or a favorable insurance adjuster, but for the return of your peace. And you have lost your peace not because of the wreckage of metal and glass two lights from the office, but because your mind has been shattered and scattered far from the shadow of the Cross. When we are not near to Christ, we lose our peace. The nearer to Jesus, the nearer to the perfect calm of Heaven; and the further from Jesus, the nearer to that troubled sea which mirrors the continual unrest of the wicked. You are tired, emotionally broken, and homesick, and it is the song of home that brings the homesickness. Your soul is crying out as it must: "If you find my Beloved, tell Him that I am sick of love."

This crushing weight of weary, disconnected labor, the separation of two thousand miles from the wife of your covenant and the little ones given you by God, followed by the violent shock of the collision just as you set your face again toward your toil, all this has laid you low. Yet see the hand of your Father in it. He has brought you to a place where no false peace will hold you. A downy bed of self-reliance would give you only a cruel and wicked peace. He is shaking you loose from resting in your own endurance. The very anxiety unfits you to meet the difficulty. Are you trying to bear this load yourself? There is no peace to the man who does not dwell constantly under the shadow of the Cross. For Jesus is our peace, and if He is absent, our peace is absent, too.

You ask prayer for the metal to be straightened and the insurance to cover the cost. These are small leaves from the great Tree of Life, and all the leaves are for healing. The least thing about Christ is healing, and even in this material ruin, His touch can make the wreckage work for your good. But first seek the deeper healing. The healing power of the Gospel is power to forgive sin and thereby to still the tempest within.

Do you not see the tenderness of Christ in this? When He healed the sick of the palsy, He did not first say, "Rise and walk." He said, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." He gave the deeper healing first. So to you, this day, the still small voice of God would whisper, "Perfect peace, even with sorrows surging round!" For what is the verse that suits you, a thousand miles from home? It is this: "Peace! Perfect peace! With loved ones far away? In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they." Your loved ones are not in your keeping, and you are not in theirs. You are all in His keeping, or you are nowhere safe at all. Rest in that, and the sting of distance is drawn.

Do you want peace? It is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary crush of thronging duties, even the duty of dealing with insurers and body shops. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Cast off the ambition to manage all this in your own strength, flee the indecision of a divided heart, and anchor your mind on Him. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You." If you will not trust Him, neither shall you have peace. But if you will believe that He who took our sicknesses and bore our infirmities has not left you alone in this small corner of calamity, then an inward peace will steal over your soul even while the outward strain remains.

Do not seek peace on the false terms of the devil, who cries "Peace, peace" where there is no peace, leaving conscience dormant while turbulence reigns. The peace you need is a blessing that brings no sorrow with it, peace from lips that cannot lie, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. Let the blood of Jesus whisper peace within you now. It is enough. Earth’s struggles soon shall cease. And even now, in this dark world of sin, you may know a peace gleaming with heavenly light. When your soul faints, shortly He will lift the veil and your sun shall rise with healing beneath His wings. Go your way in peace, for the Lord will bless His people with peace.

The war that rages most fiercely right now is not against your insurance company or the repair shop, but the war within your own soul. Weariness, homesickness, and fear have risen up against faith and peace, and they wrestle for the prize. In that struggle, do not let anger or despair sit as umpire. Let the peace of God rule in your heart instead. That peace is not like the world’s, which depends on a fixed truck or small bills; it is the very peace Christ left to His own, a peace that no accident can wreck, no distance can dissolve. If your vehicle is restored, give thanks. If it is not, do not let your spirit be totalled, for your true treasure is the family God has given you and the safety of your soul.

Remember, the angels of the little ones behold the Father’s face continually, and you have a guardian likewise. You were not alone at that intersection. The God of peace drew near to you. Cling to Him, not to anxious calculations of cost. Worldly peace is fleeting; it often does more harm than good if it teaches us to trust in things that rust and smash. When curious reasonings disturb your faith and whisper that you are abandoned, answer with prayer, not with panic. God wills that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and He desires you to lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness. That quiet life is born first inside, when the body’s fears submit to the soul’s trust. You are tired and emotionally broken, but the physician is near. Let Him amputate the diseased anxiety, and stitch you back together. Do not drive the Spirit away by minding only earthly repairs. Set your mind on the things above, and the peace that surpasses understanding will hold you fast, far more securely than any insurance policy.
