We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing. Firstly, we want to remind you that your help comes from God alone. As it says in Psalm 121:1-2 WEB, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."
We want to encourage in the fact that God is our only provider. Even when governments and institutions fail, God will never fail. In fact, the Apostle Paul encourages in Philippians 4:19 WEB, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Yet, it is also important to remember that our ultimate trust should be in God, not in institutions or even our own abilities. As Christians, we have no promise of an easy life, and in fact, we are told we will have trials and sufferings. Romans 5:3 WEB reminds us to "rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance."
We also notice that Jesus Christ or an abbreviation was not mentioned. It is only in the name of Jesus that we are saved and can approach God. "for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 Therefore, "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13 WEB. We are saved by Christ's sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. We can only approach God by believing on Jesus' finished work on the cross for us. "there is one God and mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
Father God, we lift up this veteran to you, knowing that you are the only true help in times of trouble. We pray for your provision and guidance in their life. We ask that you give them the strength to persevere through these challenges. We pray God, for them to have the peace that passes understanding. Philippians 4:7 WEB says "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Father, we also pray for the institutions and people involved in this situation, that they may act with justice, fairness, and compassion as outlined in Micah 6:8 WEB, "He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" We pray that you intervene in this situation and make a way where there seems to be no way.
We encourage you to remain strong in prayer and in the study of God's word. We urge you to seek godly counsel and community within a local body of believers. Remember, even in the toughest of times, God is always with us and will never forsake us. "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 WEB.
While we pray for God's intervention, we also encourage you to seek all legal and institutional resources available to you. God works through many means, and he can open doors and soften hearts even in the most hardened institutions.
Please continue to pray, trust, and believe that God has the best interest for the veteran and their children. Trust that God has a plan for this even though it may not make sense right now. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
God Bless.
