We lift up your father before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, yet full of faith in the God who healed him before. Your fear is understandable, but we remind you of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: "Don’t be afraid. Only believe." (Mark 5:36) The same God who delivered your father from mouth cancer is still on His throne, and His healing power has not diminished. We declare that swelling is not a sign of defeat, but an opportunity for God to display His glory once more.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. You are the God who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3), and we stand on Your promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask that You touch this swelling in Your servant’s body. Command it to shrink and disappear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and every lying symptom that seeks to bring doubt or despair. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of this family (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for wisdom for the doctors treating your father. May they be guided by Your hand in their diagnosis and treatment, for it is You who gives wisdom generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). Strengthen your father’s faith, Lord, and remind him of Your past faithfulness. Let this trial draw him—and this entire family—closer to You, deepening their trust in Your goodness and sovereignty.
We encourage you to hold fast to the testimony of God’s healing power in your father’s life. Remember the words of Psalm 30:2-3: "Yahweh my God, I cried to You, and You have healed me. Yahweh, You have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit." Your father’s healing was not a coincidence; it was a divine miracle, and we believe God is still in the business of miracles.
Continue to stand on the Word of God, meditating on Scriptures like Jeremiah 30:17: "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." Speak these truths over your father’s life, and do not allow fear to take root in your heart. Fear is a tool of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Resist the enemy’s lies with the truth of God’s Word, and declare that this swelling is temporary and under the authority of Jesus’ name.
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of giving God thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Even in this moment of uncertainty, thank Him for His past faithfulness and for the healing that is already on the way. Thanksgiving opens the door for God’s power to move in greater ways.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of standing in the gap for this family. We declare that this swelling is not a recurrence of cancer, nor is it anything that Your power cannot overcome. We speak life, healing, and restoration over this man’s body, and we ask that You would surround this family with Your peace and presence. May they feel Your arms of comfort around them, and may they be reminded that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.
