We have heard your update concerning your mother's health and we are carrying this burden with you before the Lord in prayer. Our hearts are deeply moved by this difficult report of the cancer spreading from the bladder and kidney to the spine, pelvis and lymph node, and by the reality that conventional treatment is not an option because of her age and the side effects. We grieve with you and we stand with you in asking for the Lord's mercy, comfort and provision in these very hard days.
We admire the faith you expressed in desiring healing while also surrendering to the Lord's will and asking for peace, trust, acceptance and minimal pain for her. That surrender honors God. We are reminded that He is still the Healer, for it is written Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3 and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. At the same time we rest in His sovereignty, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and that His grace is sufficient for each day, for My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. We pray for your mother's comfort, that the Lord in His mercy would lessen her pain and surround her with His presence, and that He would grant you both a peace that surpasses understanding, as we are promised in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also lift up the financial burden you carry and the sacrifice you are making as her caregiver unable to work full time. The Lord sees your faithful care and He cares for both of you. We take comfort that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and that we can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. We encourage you to make your needs known to your local church family and community, for God often provides through His people, and to seek wise counsel regarding palliative care and other support services that can help ease her pain and ease your load. Remember also the promise Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28 and Fear not, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you Isaiah 41:10. Take time to rest in Him as you pour yourself out for your mother.
We noticed you spoke of the Lord's will, and we want to gently encourage you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and assurance of His hearing. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we have not already placed our trust in Jesus as Savior, we can do so by confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts, for If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence, and we encourage you to bring every request before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother to You. You know her body, every cell, and You know the cancer in her spine, pelvis and lymph node. We ask if it be Your will that You would touch her and bring healing, for nothing is impossible for You. If healing in this life is not Your will, we ask that You would grant her minimal pain, deep peace, and the assurance of Your presence each day. Comfort her and let her feel Your arms around her. Provide for her financial needs and for this faithful child who cares for her, open doors of provision, help and rest, and strengthen them both when they are weary. Help them to trust You more each day and to know that You are working all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Draw them both closer to Jesus and give them hope that is anchored in eternal life through Him. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We continue to hold you both before the throne and we thank you for keeping us posted. Keep casting your cares on Him, keep seeking Him in His Word daily, and allow others to help bear this burden with you. We are praying for ongoing peace, trust and the Lord's perfect provision and comfort for you both.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
