We hear your heart’s longing for freedom and independence, and we want to lift this up in prayer with you. First, let us address the foundation of our faith, our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so, for He alone can bring true peace, purpose, and direction.
Now, let us pray for you, ###, as you seek to step out on your own:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### to You. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, to walk in independence and make decisions that align with Your will for her life. We ask that You guide her steps, Father, and make her path clear. Give her wisdom and discernment as she navigates this season, and surround her with godly counsel and support. Protect her from fear, doubt, or any influence that would lead her away from Your best for her. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and remind her that she is never alone, for You are with her always (Matthew 28:20). Provide for her every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and open doors that no one can shut (Revelation 3:8). We pray for her brothers as well, Lord, that You would bless them and keep them in Your care. May their journeys, though separate, bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We also want to encourage you, ###, to seek the Lord’s will above all else. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Independence is a gift, but true freedom is found in surrendering to Christ and walking in obedience to Him. If there are areas of your life where you are struggling, whether in relationships, decisions, or emotions, bring them to the Lord in prayer. He cares for you deeply (1 Peter 5:7) and desires to lead you into His perfect plan.

However, if there are underlying conflicts or ungodly influences in your current situation, we encourage you to examine those with the Lord and seek His wisdom. Remember, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14). Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable.
Lastly, if you are feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, cling to the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God’s plans for you are good, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Walk in faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

What a vast request this is, to pray for the entire universe! Yet I fear such a petition, if not carefully weighed, may become like a chariot wheel torn from its axle. The prayer that asks amiss, driven by self-conceit, drags heavily and soon cannot move an inch. If this desire to pray for the universe springs from a heart that neglects the immediate duty of interceding for your own soul, your family, or your brothers, then it is but a mist that vanishes. True prayer is pleading with the Most High, spreading our case before Him with all the arguments we can muster, not merely uttering grand words that have no foothold on the promises.
You wish to go on your own, and you bid us use your name. Remember, the sweetest prayer God ever hears is intercessory prayer, the prayer that forgets self and pleads for others. When Christ prayed, “Father, keep them,” there was not a single grain of incense for Himself. What a privilege it is to be permitted to pray for the saints! If the world cries “Down with him!” our first duty is to cry up the cause of Christ and the souls of men. Do you ask us to pray that your private plan should succeed while your brothers go elsewhere? Be careful, for prayer is not a tool to bend the Almighty to our fancies. If we get our own fancy into our head, we shall only have to get it out again, for it will be of no service. The prayer that changes the will of God is a delusion; true prayer is the shadow of a coming blessing, shaped by promises remembered and pleaded.
Are you as eager in private devotion as you are to have your name read aloud? I fear a comparison between our zeal for temporal and spiritual things would lead to very humbling conclusions. We need to be quickened, quickened in private prayer, quickened in family devotion, quickened in reading the Scriptures. Cry out with the Psalmist, “Quicken me in Your way!” That prayer would be an index of real life, for it comes only from those in whom the Spirit already dwells.
If you would have this church pray for you, then first see that your own heart is right. Prayer hindered by unholiness, or offered as an empty form, is a sepulcher of devotion. Do not say, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man,” and yet try to use the prayers of others as a shield for your own course. Rather say, “Come nearer to me, O Lord, for I am sinful,” and let humility take the shape of drawing near to God. We are not given prayer merely to soothe our anxieties; sometimes faith must rise up and act, not just cry out. Have you truly committed your path to Him, or are you seeking a loophole to escape a duty you already know?
We shall pray that God’s will be done in your life, that He may guide your steps, whether you go alone or with your brothers, and that above all, you may be quickened to seek first His kingdom. The Lord will yet hear if you plead His promises: “Remember the Word unto Your servant.” Bring such prayers before the throne, and they shall be answered as sure as God is God. But let your request be conformed to His Word, and not to the fleeting desires of the hour. As for the universe, let us begin by praying that the gospel would turn the world upside down once more, and that our own cold hearts might be set ablaze with divine fire. Then, in the fellowship of the saints, we may continue with one accord in prayer and supplication, and the Lord will grant what is truly needed.

You ask prayers for the whole universe, but first concern yourself with the salvation of your own soul. Why this longing to go off alone while your brothers go elsewhere? Are you seeking rest for your flesh or nourishment for your spirit? Remember the Lord’s own journey: He had no place to lay His head, and He taught His disciples to take no gold or silver for the road. If your journey is not for His sake, it is a fruitless wandering. Instead, be more earnest in your prayers. Inquire diligently for holy men, men truly devoted to God in the solitude of the desert; take a long journey to visit them, and give with your own hand. In such a giving, you may offer your whole soul and be detained from the world. Do not fix your eyes on the wealthy or on worldly honors, for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul? As for your name in the prayer, God knows those who are His. Do not make much of having your name spoken, but rather see that your name is written in the Book of Life. Let your journey be toward humility, for however much you humble yourself, you cannot descend so much as your Lord, yet His descent became the ascent of all.
