"By their fruits you will know them"

Recently Ive been observing a disturbing trend. coming out in public more are those who profess Christianity but over time more of their views and actions come out which are based on things forbidden in the Bible or trying to overturn Gods order. One well know celebrity recently departed denied a God who punished sin had affairs during marriage, backed gay marriage all while professing Christianity. Before I had time to disgest that now its coming out more about another who became well known claimed the dead husband was trying to contact her, also trying to please a group of women tells them they can"control men",which is not the way of the Bible. These Christians who try to create their own rules ,not backslidden but a whole lifestyle are coming out more and more.Maybe because the last days the devil working overtime to mislead. But worse they mislead others.Believers beware.."Not everyone who calls Me Lord Lord .."

We hear your concern and we share it with you, for we too have seen this disturbing increase of those who take the name of Christ yet bear no fruit of repentance and obedience. You quoted the words of our Lord rightly, and we take comfort that He warned us plainly so we would not be deceived.

Jesus said, You will know them by their fruits. Do people gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles Matthew 7:16. And again, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven Matthew 7:21. Many will say to Him in that day that they prophesied and did works in His name, yet He will declare, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity Matthew 7:23. This is a sobering warning that a profession of Christianity without submission to God's Word is empty.

We must rebuke what you have observed, for it does not align with Scripture. To deny that God punishes sin is to deny His holiness and justice and to make His grace cheap. The Bible says the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23 and that God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. To commit affairs during marriage is adultery, which God forbids in Exodus 20:14 and which is listed among the works of the flesh that will not inherit the Kingdom of God Galatians 5:19-21. To affirm what God calls an abomination, such as homosexuality and so called gay marriage, is to overturn God's order for marriage, which from the beginning was one man and one woman becoming one flesh Matthew 19:4-6, and to exchange the truth of God for a lie Romans 1:26-27. No one who lives in unrepentant practice of these things while claiming Christ is bearing good fruit, and we are called to lovingly but firmly call it what it is, sin that needs repentance.

Likewise to claim that a dead husband is trying to contact the living is forbidden and dangerous. God clearly commands, There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer Deuteronomy 18:10-11. The dead do not return to speak to us, and seeking such contact opens the door to deceiving spirits. And to teach women that they can and should control men is a direct reversal of God's created order. Scripture teaches, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord Ephesians 5:22 and that the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church Ephesians 5:23. This is not about inferiority, for men and women are equal in value before God, but about order and humility and love as God designed it. Teaching domination and manipulation brings strife, not godliness.

You are right that this is a sign of the last days. The Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons 1 Timothy 4:1. For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts 2 Timothy 4:3. And Jesus warned, For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones Matthew 24:24. The devil is indeed working overtime to mislead, and false teachers mislead many. That is why we are told, Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1.

We also want to gently remind that our only hope and our only access to the Father is through Jesus Christ Himself. It is only by His name that we are saved and can approach God, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. True faith in Him always brings repentance and a desire to obey, not to remake His commands to suit our preferences.

So we join together and pray with you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your Word which is truth and which warns us with love. We confess that we grieve over those who take Your holy name in vain while living in open rebellion, and we ask for Your mercy. Lord, open the eyes of those who are deceived and those who are deceiving others. Bring them to true repentance and faith in Jesus, that they may be saved and turn from adultery, from sexual immorality, from homosexuality, from seeking the dead and from prideful rebellion against Your order. Protect Your flock from deception, give us discernment to know the tree by its fruit, and give us courage to speak the truth in love. Raise up faithful shepherds and believers who will hold fast to sound doctrine and live holy lives that honor marriage between one man and one woman and honor Christ as Lord. Keep us watchful in these last days, rooted in Your Word, and help us to love what You love and hate what You hate. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast, to abide daily in Scripture, to test every teaching and every celebrity profession against the whole counsel of God, and to pray for those who are lost in this counterfeit Christianity, that God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth 2 Timothy 2:25.

We hear how heavy this has been to watch. When well known voices claim the name of Christ while living in ways that clearly depart from His teaching, it can leave you feeling grieved and unsettled, especially when you know others may be led astray.

Your desire to pause and weigh what you are seeing by its fruits is a wise and caring instinct. It is right to care about truth and to care about the people being influenced. In a noisy media culture it helps to keep our focus on what is steady and close at hand rather than on distant personalities. Staying rooted in God's Word and in fellowship with a faithful local church where you can ask honest questions and be known gives a clearer place to test what you hear and to stay encouraged.

If following these public stories is wearing on you, it can be a kindness to yourself to turn the volume down on that stream for a season and invest that attention in the people God has placed right in front of you to love and serve. That often brings more peace and clarity than trying to track every example.

Thank you for bringing this concern to prayer with love for other believers.

Father, we ask You to keep us humble and close to You, guarding us from both deception and cynicism. Give our friend wisdom and quiet peace as he walks with You, protect those who are being misled, and keep Your people faithful to You in how we live and love. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your words show a holy grief which many faithful souls now feel, and you have judged rightly according to our Lord's own rule, by their fruits you shall know them.

It has always been so that among the wheat the tares appear, and the apostle wept over those who were a disgrace to godliness while they still named the name of Christ. It is an easy thing to palm oneself off for a godly man nowadays, when there is little self denial and little mortification of the flesh required by the crowd. Yet ministers are fearfully guilty if they intentionally build up men in a false peace, and play jackal to the lion of hell by pandering to the depraved tastes of vain and rebellious man. There is a true gospel and there are thousands of false ones, and God has given you judgment, use it.

You name truly the fruits that mark a false profession. To deny that God will punish sin is to deny His holiness and His cross, for Christ was put to grief and made an offering for sin precisely because sin must be punished. To break the covenant of marriage by adultery, and then to call good what God calls sin by backing what He has forbidden in the union of man with man, is to try to overturn God's order. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is holy only within that covenant. To claim that the dead seek to speak with the living is to turn to what God has forbidden, for the dead are in His hands and He forbids us to seek them. To teach women to control men is likewise to set aside the humble and godly order which the Scripture teaches, where love and reverence and mutual service are found in submission to Christ first of all. These are not mere slips of a backslidden hour, but a whole lifestyle fashioned after one's own rules, and it will mislead others if it is not marked for what it is.

Therefore put to yourself and to all that you hear this question, will my peace last me when the heavens are in a blaze and when the trembling universe stands to be judged. For there are last things which must be considered. At the last comes death, which ends our period of trial. At the last comes judgment, when the Lord shall make the last census, the last counting of the jewels and casting away of the counterfeits, the last bringing in of the sheep and banishment of the goats. At the last comes heaven for those who are in Christ, and a dread banishment for those who are not. It is not for us to count with our fingers who are plucked from the burning, but to use our hands to pluck them from the fire, and to leave the roll to the Only Wise God who at the last shall decide whether they are His or not. Happy shall he be who in that last dread day shall be approved by the Judge of all the earth.

What then shall you do. Hold fast to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for they that are in the flesh cannot please God, and we must be saved if we would serve the Lord. Try every teaching by the Word, and keep close to Christ in faith and holiness, remembering that not everyone who says Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom, but he that does the will of the Father. Pray not that God would bless what He has called sin, but pray that those who are deceived and those who deceive others would be brought to repentance and to a true and living faith, that they might be converted and their sin forgiven, and that the last state of such persons be not worse than the first. And for yourself, watch and pray, walk humbly, love truth, and warn those within your reach with tears, that they may not be carried away by this plague among us but may be found in Christ in that day.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your observation is right and it agrees with what Scripture teaches. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits and that not everyone who says to Him Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom but only the one who does the will of the Father. What you are describing is not a moment of weakness or a believer who has stumbled and seeks to return, but a settled way of life that reshapes doctrine to fit desire.

Scripture foretold that this would happen. In the last days perilous times will come, for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. From the beginning the enemy has always set up error beside the truth. God planted Paradise and the deceiver came with a promise saying you shall be as gods. So it was with Cain and Abel, with Moses and the magicians, with the apostles and false apostles, with Christ and antichrist. We should not be surprised or shaken when we see it again now, though we should grieve over it.

One reason this happens is what the apostles warned about, that when life becomes corrupt it creates a teaching that suits it. A person who wants to excuse what God calls sin will then try to persuade himself and others that what God has said is not true, and so makes shipwreck of the faith. To deny that God judges sin, to treat marriage lightly through unfaithfulness, to affirm what God has called contrary to His design for marriage as one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant, to seek to contact the dead which God forbids, to teach women to control men rather than to walk in the humility, love and mutual respect Scripture commands, all of these are not small differences of opinion. They are fruits that show a heart that has not submitted to the Word of God.

The Lord also warned that false prophets and false messiahs would come and cause confusion, especially as the end draws near. Their influence is dangerous precisely because they mislead others while using the name of Christ. That is why you are right to urge believers to beware and to test every teaching by Scripture itself, holding fast to faith and a good conscience.

We will pray for you, for discernment and steadiness in a time of confusion, that you would remain rooted in the Word, not tossed about by every new claim. We will also pray for those you mentioned and for all who are being led astray by them, that God in His mercy would grant repentance, that they would see that God is both holy and just and also merciful, that He does judge sin and that He has provided salvation through Jesus Christ alone for all who turn from sin and trust in Him. We pray that those who have embraced what is forbidden would turn back, and that those who have been confused would be restored to the truth and to a pure walk before the Lord.

Continue to keep your eyes on Christ, to read the Scriptures daily, to stay in fellowship where the Word is taught plainly and without wavering, and to judge all things by that standard. God will keep those who belong to Him, and He calls His people to watch and to stand firm.
