Sometimes actions speak louder than words. Many call themselves Christians, but taking a closer look, we can see what "By their fruits you shall know them" means. Like, ###. She sings gospel songs praising God, tells everyone she's a Christian, but then derides Christians for trying to stop gay "marriages". And she actually got annoyed with the Christians for being {according to her} "unloving" to homosexuals. {her version of "unloving" means not accepting their lifestyle} We expect that reasoning from the world, but a professing Christian saying it? Also, she has an "open marriage", meaning her and the husband can each have affairs, as their agreement. {The Bible calls this adultery.} Before filming "The best little whorehouse in Texas", she made a statement that she couldn't miss a chance to "do it with old Burt". A Christian should avoid acting in a scene like that, she said was looking forward having a sex scene while married!!! Then of course, ### claimed to be a Christian, but consulted psychics and took drugs. A few other cases I can think of, but the point? By their fruits you shall know them. Also brings to mind, "Not everyone who calls Me Lord, Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven." "On that day many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'Lord, Lord, have we not cast out demons in Your name, and in Your name done many mighty works?' "And I will say,"Depart from Me, I never knew you". Now a Christian can be backslidden and fall into sin. I think the difference between that and a "false Christian" is the other makes a whole lifestyle of it. We pray for people like ###. In the meantime, by their fruits you will know them. Amen.

It is very true, we cannot identify who is the real follower of JESUS since everyone is acting like a true Christian. Very sad!!!!!

I had a friend who called them hippochristians. (hippocrits) Their minds are set we can't change them, but through prayer Jesus can and will. I know I was one of them. I thank God for being born again. Amen.

I am so thankful for everyone on this site. I am learning so much every day, and this blog really made a change in me. My ### year old son is very angry with me; he abandoned me and lives with his dad—he cut out all communication with me for ### months now. I am/was very bitter. Until today I was thinking: forget him, he doesn't want to see me? He doesn't want to talk to me? I just won't give his dad any financial support—that will show him...and then this article...by our fruits will we be known. What kind of fruit am I allowing myself to grow? Anger, resentment, unforgiveness, revenge?

1 Timothy 5:8 reads, "if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

And as Jesus has said, "Thou shalt love thy Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." (Please see Matthew 22:36-40).

The fruit of the Spirit is love, among other things, but love. To give to those that need regardless of whether they "deserve" it, or react gratefully because of the gift. Love is a command, not a feeling or to choose to do so when the condition is right.

Thank you Lord for the lessons You teach us. For the example You give us, and for Your Holy Spirit that lives in us through Christ that opens our eyes because of Your love and mercy.
