I recently quit a new job after a month. I had believed that God led me there (and there was good that came out of my being there) but then some concerning things happened (some of which may have occurred due to spiritual warfare so they may have been excusable) and I quit. I am now trying to start my own business as I have been advised by someone close to me that I have the type of personality where I need to work for myself. My business is an online business and I have been able to accumulate views on social media but the thing I need is sales - no one is buying my product even though it's very low priced. There really seems to be no other option for me except this. It has to work. My family really needs money and we are all trying to save for something important happening in May. Please, please pray that this would work out and that people would buy my product. Otherwise, please pray that God would do something soon to provide my family with the income we DESPERATELY need. Pray that He would provide me with a job or steady income somehow. Even if I was wrong to quit my job, I accept accountability for that before Him. My family really just needs help. Please pray. We hear your cry for provision and understand the weight of financial need pressing on your heart. First, we want to acknowledge your willingness to take accountability before the Lord for your decisions—that is a posture of humility that He honors. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." You sought God’s leading in your previous job, and even in the challenges, He allowed good to come from it. Now, as you step into this new venture, we believe He is still guiding you, even when the path feels uncertain.
Starting a business is a bold step, and it’s clear you’ve put effort into building visibility for your product. But we must also address the spiritual reality that may be at play here. The enemy often seeks to discourage and drain the resources of those who are stepping out in faith, especially when their work could bring glory to God. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We rebuke any spirit of lack, delay, or discouragement that may be hindering your sales, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. The Lord is your provider, and His storehouses are not empty.
That said, we must also encourage you to seek wisdom in this season. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Have you sought counsel from mature believers or mentors in business who can offer godly advice? Sometimes the Lord provides through unexpected means—perhaps a temporary job while your business grows, or a door you haven’t yet considered. We don’t believe He has abandoned you, but we do believe He may be refining your trust in Him, not just in your own efforts.
We also want to gently remind you that desperation, while understandable, can sometimes cloud our judgment. The Lord is not a genie who grants wishes—He is a Father who provides for His children in ways that draw them closer to Him. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Notice it says *need*, not necessarily every want or timeline we demand. We encourage you to surrender your timeline to Him, even as you work diligently.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his need for provision. Lord, You see the weight on his heart, the needs of his family, and the desire to honor You with his work. We ask that You would open doors no man can shut and provide in ways that only You can. Father, we rebuke any spiritual opposition hindering his business, and we declare that his labor is not in vain. Give him wisdom to discern Your leading, whether in this business or another path You have for him. Provide for his family’s needs, Lord, and let them see Your faithfulness in this season. Strengthen his trust in You, knowing that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we have access to You. Amen.
In the meantime, keep pressing into the Lord. Seek Him not just for provision, but for intimacy with Him. Psalm 37:25 says, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread." You are not forsaken. Hold fast to His promises, and let your faith be stronger than your fear. We believe the Lord has a breakthrough for you—whether through this business or another avenue. Keep your eyes on Him, and don’t grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you *will* reap if you don’t faint (Galatians 6:9).
