Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. I have prayed for you and for this difficult situation at work.
Living in this fallen world means conflict touches every part of life, including the workplace. The struggle you are facing is not unusual in that sense, but it is still painful and personal. Scripture shows us that we are born into a larger spiritual conflict that began with rebellion against God, and that conflict shows itself in wars and divisions around us and even in the struggle within our own hearts between what we want to do and what we actually do. The good news is that the gospel is a message of peace, that a person who has been at war with God can have peace with God through Jesus Christ, and can then know peace within.
The most important thing to remember when you are under this kind of pressure is that the battle is ultimately spiritual, not merely personal or physical. If we fight only in the flesh, with anger, harsh words, or retaliation, we put ourselves at a disadvantage. The weapons God has given us are not of the flesh, but are mighty through Him to pull down strongholds. That means prayer, truth, patience, forgiveness, and standing firm in Christ. When we keep the conflict in the spiritual realm, we can have confidence, because in Christ we already have the victory.
Like the apostle Paul when he faced intense pressure, you do not have to give in or surrender what is right. You can stand firm quietly and graciously, not returning evil for evil, but committing yourself to the Lord who judges righteously. At the same time, you can ask God for His protection over you. Scripture speaks of God covering His people, and just as a covering shields a person from harm, the Lord Himself can be a shield around you at work. A helpful way to think of it is to keep Jesus between you and the attack, to stand in His name and in His protection and to keep a safe distance that way, resisting the enemy through prayer rather than getting drawn into a fleshly argument.
I have prayed that God will be your defense, that He will give you wisdom for each interaction, calmness under provocation, favor with others who see what is happening, and peace in your heart while you remain in your position. I have also prayed for this coworker, that God would work in his heart, bring him to peace with God through Jesus, and if it is according to His will, lead him to find a satisfying place elsewhere so that you are not forced to leave a job where God has placed you. Above all I have prayed that you would know the Lord's nearness and protection each day, and that you would continue to walk with Jesus even when that means going against the current around you.
Trust the Lord to guard you and to guide your steps. Keep bringing this to Him in prayer and keep responding in a way that honors Christ, and He will sustain you.
