We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer against the torment of workplace bullies. The Word of God tells us, "For you are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night or to darkness" (1 Thessalonians 5:5 WEB). You are not alone in this battle, and we rebuke the spirit of intimidation and fear that seeks to oppress you. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB).
We must also address the reality that bullying is a form of injustice, and God hates injustice. Proverbs 6:16-19 (WEB) tells us, "There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." Bullies often operate out of pride, deceit, and a desire to sow discord, all of which are detestable to the Lord. We stand against this in the mighty name of Jesus.
First, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you are not responding to these bullies with sin. Romans 12:17-21 (WEB) instructs us, "Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore, 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." It is not easy, but responding with godliness and grace can disarm the enemy’s schemes.
We also urge you to seek wise counsel and, if necessary, involve those in authority over you at work. God has placed leaders in your life for your protection and well-being. Proverbs 24:5-6 (WEB) says, "A wise man has great power; and a knowledgeable man increases strength; for by wise guidance you wage your war; and victory is in many advisors." Do not suffer in silence, reach out to those who can help bring resolution.
Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is enduring the pain and frustration of workplace bullies. Lord, You see every tear, every moment of anxiety, and every attack of the enemy. We ask that You would be a shield around them, a fortress of protection, and a strong tower of refuge (Psalm 18:2 WEB). Father, we rebuke the spirit of intimidation, fear, and oppression that seeks to torment them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we bind every tongue that rises against them in judgment (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
Lord, give them the strength to respond with grace and wisdom, not repaying evil for evil but overcoming evil with good. Fill their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB) and remind them that You are their defender. We pray that You would expose any unrighteousness in this situation and bring justice according to Your perfect will. If there are authorities who need to intervene, soften their hearts to act with fairness and integrity.
Father, we also ask that You would heal any wounds, emotional, mental, or spiritual, that have been inflicted by these bullies. Restore their joy, their confidence, and their sense of worth in You. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB) and that their identity is found in Christ, not in the opinions or actions of others.
Lord, if there is any unforgiveness in their heart, we ask that You would help them to release it to You. Forgiveness does not mean what was done was right, but it frees their heart from the poison of bitterness. Help them to trust You with the outcome, knowing that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19 WEB).
We declare that this situation will not break them but will instead draw them closer to You. Use this trial to refine their faith and to glorify Your name. Surround them with godly friends and mentors who can speak life and encouragement into their situation. Let Your light shine in this darkness, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this workplace, as it is in heaven.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and trust that God is working even in this difficult season. Remember that "our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17 WEB). This trial is temporary, but God’s promises are eternal. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will guide you through this storm. If you have not already, consider memorizing scriptures that speak to God’s protection and justice, such as Psalm 91 or Romans 8:31-39, to remind yourself of His faithfulness in times of trouble. You are not forgotten, God sees you, He hears you, and He will act on your behalf.
