Bullies and witchcraft

We have heard your cry and we are bringing you before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, for the Lord sees your affliction and He is your refuge and deliverer.

We want to speak truth to you with love about what you are enduring. Bullying from a parent brings deep pain, and witchcraft is a serious matter before God. The Scriptures are clear that all forms of witchcraft, sorcery, and spell work are forbidden and are an abomination to the Lord, as it is written in Deuteronomy 18:10-12. It is also written that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. Your mother needs our prayers as well, for to practice witchcraft is to walk in darkness and rebellion against God, and to bully and attack her child is contrary to God's command that fathers and mothers not provoke their children to anger in Ephesians 6:4 and to love as Christ loves. We do not take this lightly, and we rebuke the works of darkness and the spirit of intimidation and control that is operating against you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.

We encourage you to stand firm in the Lord and put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:11, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. This means daily abiding in prayer, reading the Word, and walking in obedience and forgiveness even when it is hard. Jesus said to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you in Matthew 5:44. Forgiving your mother does not mean you must remain in a place of harm or accept abuse without seeking help, but it releases your heart from bitterness and allows God to be your defender. We urge you to seek godly counsel and protection from a trusted pastor, a mature believer, or a biblical counselor in your local church, and if you are in physical danger, to seek safe help immediately. Keep your eyes on Christ, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4, and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail in Isaiah 54:17.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we invite you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation, deliverance, and protection. When we pray in Jesus' name, we come under His authority over all darkness.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to You who is being attacked with bullying and witchcraft by their own mother. Lord, we ask You to be a shield around them as You have promised that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91:1. We ask that You break every curse, spell, and work of witchcraft directed against them, for we know that Christ has redeemed us from the curse, and that no power can separate us from Your love in Romans 8:38-39. We rebuke every work of darkness and command it to flee in Jesus' name, and we pray that You would fill this home with Your light, peace, and truth. Lord, we pray for this mother, that You would convict her heart, lead her to repentance, and draw her to salvation in Jesus Christ, that she may turn from witchcraft and from harshness and learn to walk in Your love. Give this dear child of Yours wisdom, strength, and discernment, provide safe and godly people to support and protect them, heal their heart from wounds of rejection and fear, and help them to forgive as You have forgiven us. Let them know deeply that You are near to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18 and that You will never leave them nor forsake them in Hebrews 13:5. We declare Your victory and Your covering over their life, and we trust You to bring justice, healing, and restoration. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We are really glad you reached out, and we are sorry for the pain you are carrying at home. Being bullied where you should feel safest, by your own mother, is deeply wounding, and feeling targeted spiritually on top of that can leave you exhausted and on edge. We want you to know we see how hard this is and we are praying for you.

It makes sense to feel afraid when you sense spiritual opposition, and we want to gently remind you that your security does not rest on figuring out every spiritual attack, but on staying close to Jesus who holds you. He sees what you are facing and He is able to keep you, even when family relationships are strained and confusing.

You do not need to walk through this alone. It can help to have one safe, steady person to talk with regularly, such as a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believer who knows you and can support you in person. If you ever feel unsafe at home, please reach for help right away from a safe person or your local support resources and consider a counselor who can help you think through healthy boundaries and next steps with your mother.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. Surround them with Your peace and protection, bring healing to the hurt from bullying, grant wisdom for each interaction with their mother, and provide safe community around them. Lead them in Your will and keep them close to You. In Jesus name, amen.

Your cry concerning the bullying and witchcraft you suffer, even at the hand of your own mother, has been heard, and we have carried it before the throne of grace with deep compassion.

There is a grief that cuts most keenly when the wound comes from one who should be a shelter. Yet hear what the Scripture teaches, that troubles do not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground, but the Lord Himself sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace. Our afflictions may come distinctly from man, as the result of malice or persecution, and yet they may come with even greater certainty from the Lord and may be the necessary outcome of His special love to us. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes and look above the hand that smites us to the hand that permits the trial for our good.

At the same time, the Word of God is plain that witchcraft is not a trifle to be endured lightly, but a work of darkness. The Scripture says, He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin and from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. No sympathy of man, no strength of your own will, can loose these bonds. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

Here is your hope. God has not left you to go down to the Pit. There is a word spoken in Heaven concerning the afflicted soul, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, and He has found it in His own Son. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. In Christ alone there is salvation, and in Christ alone there is power to break the fascinating power of sin and the cruel power of the enemy.

We have prayed for you after this manner, that the Lord would be gracious unto you.

O Lord our God, who from the height of Your sanctuary looks down upon those who are fettered and oppressed, look in pity upon this Your child. Deliver from going down to the Pit, for You have found a ransom in the blood of Your Son. Deliver from the power of darkness, from every evil work and every snare of the adversary. Keep back the soul from perishing and set the feet in a safe place. Grant peace within the borders of this life, and above all, peace with You through Jesus Christ. So work in the heart of the mother also, that she may be turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins through faith that is in Christ. Give to the one who suffers grace to endure as chastening from a Father's hand, wisdom to seek godly counsel and needful protection, and faith to say at last, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Take this comfort, that deliverance is of the Lord, but He often accomplishes it by human instrumentality. Do not walk this path alone. Seek the watchful care of faithful pastors and mature believers who can counsel you, pray with you continually, and help you to walk wisely and safely in this hard providence. Store your mind with the knowledge of Christ, cry mightily to Him in secret, and trust that He who has taught you the mischief of darkness will make you to triumph over it.

May the Lord who has chastened you sorely, yet not given you over unto death, keep you, establish you, and bring you forth to declare His works.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
