Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need honestly. Even a small affliction like bedbugs can bring real distress, sleeplessness and frustration, and it is right to bring it to the Lord.
Jesus emphasized over and over how much your Father loves you and that His ear is open to your cry. He sees, He hears, He knows what you are going through, and He has come to deliver. Some people scoff at prayer, but Scripture shows that God invites His children to come to Him.
That invitation is to come as a child to a father, not with formal distant language as if He were far away. A simple honest prayer from the heart means more than lofty words. To say Father, I need help, I am troubled by this, please have mercy and bring relief, is the kind of closeness He welcomes. He hears that cry.
It is also understandable to want prayer when you are in trouble. Even those who do not normally seek God will ask for prayer when affliction comes, because the heart knows it needs help beyond itself. Your desire to pray about this shows that instinct to turn to Him.
I will join you in praying that God will bring relief from this pest and give you wisdom and peace, and that He will show His care in your situation. At the same time, Scripture teaches there is a time for prayer and a time for action. We should precede our actions with prayer and seek the Lord's guidance, and then we should move to do what is wise and practical. Pray for deliverance, and also take the steady practical steps that help address the problem, cleaning, treating the area, seeking help where needed, trusting that God works through both prayer and diligent action.
Agreement in prayer is precious, but it does not force God's hand. He is not compelled by numbers, He answers according to His love and wisdom and perfect will. Our confidence is not that He must do exactly what we dictate, but that He hears His children and will do what is right and good. So we keep praying, trusting Him, and looking for His help day by day.
May the Lord hear your cry, comfort you, and provide relief and rest in your home as you walk with Him and trust Him to care for you.
