Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have brought your brother and your whole family before the Lord with you, asking for His mercy and help in this difficult time.
We pray that God will grant your brother wisdom and patience as he seeks to sell the land, and that God will give him favor and grace in every conversation, especially with family members who are angry with him. We ask that the Lord will soften hearts on all sides and give each one a willingness to listen, to speak gently, and to seek peace.
Scripture teaches that it glorifies God when His people are closely united, and that reconciliation is at the heart of what Christ has done for us. He Himself became our High Priest and by Himself purged our sins and made reconciliation for us, so that we who were once enemies might be brought near to God. Because we have received such great forgiveness, we are called to forgive as we have been forgiven. This forgiveness does not require a long journey or great labor, but a willing heart that chooses to release anger and to bear with one another in love.
When there is hurt and anger, the Lord calls the one who is able to go to his brother privately, to speak the truth in love, and to seek restoration. That step, taken in humility, often opens the door for healing. And when we bear meekly even spiteful acts, we find not only deliverance from sin but also patience, mildness, freedom from constant anger, and a life marked by greater joy and blessing.
So we pray that God will help all the siblings to practice forgiveness, to let go of malice, and to be reconciled to one another for Christ's sake. We ask that He will keep your brother in His grace, strengthen him with wisdom, guard his heart in patience, and heal him in every pain of body and soul. May the Lord who forgives sins and who will raise us up also bring peace to this family and guide the outcome of the sale according to His good will.
We continue to pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have forgiveness and peace with God. Amen.
