We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear friend who has been battling breast cancer with such courage and faith. Father God, we know that You see every tear she has shed, every moment of pain, and every struggle she endures. We ask that You would strengthen her body, mind, and spirit, reminding her that she is not fighting alone, You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we pray for wisdom for her as she faces decisions about her treatment. The side effects of chemotherapy have been overwhelming, and we ask that You would guide her steps, giving her clarity and peace about the path ahead. If it is Your will, we ask for healing, complete and miraculous restoration of her health. But if the journey must continue through medical treatment, we pray for grace to endure, for relief from nausea, pain, and swelling, and for strength to press on. Help her to trust in You, for You are the Great Physician who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3).
We also lift up her heart, Father. The weariness of this long battle has taken its toll, and we ask that You would renew her hope and her will to live. Remind her of the countless lives she has touched through her prayers and kindness, how she has been a spiritual mother to so many, including the one who writes this request. Let her see the fruit of her faithfulness and know that her life is precious in Your sight. Surround her with Your love, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke the spirit of despair and heaviness in Jesus’ name. We command every attack of the enemy against her body and mind to cease, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If there is any unconfessed sin or area of her life that needs alignment with Your will, we ask that You would reveal it to her in love, giving her the grace to repent and turn toward You. But we also declare that sickness is not always a result of sin, sometimes it is simply the brokenness of a fallen world, and You use even these trials for Your glory and our growth (John 9:3).
Father, we pray for practical help for her as well. Bless her with someone who can assist with cleaning and daily tasks, and soften her son’s heart to recognize the needs of his mother. We ask that You would convict him of any selfishness or neglect, drawing him closer to You and to her. Help her to set healthy boundaries and not enable patterns that harm either of them. Provide for her needs, Lord, whether through her son, other family, friends, or Your divine intervention.
We also lift up her physical well-being, asking that You would help her manage her weight in a way that honors her body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Give her discipline in her eating and strength for gentle movement, even if it’s just short walks. Heal her joints, reduce the swelling, and stop the nosebleeds. We declare that her body is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we speak life and restoration over every part of her.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that she would draw near to You. In the midst of suffering, it can be easy to feel distant from You, but we know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Renew her faith, remind her of Your promises, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. May she continue to be a warrior for Your kingdom, using her voice to declare Your healing power and Your goodness, even in the fire.
We thank You, Father, for her life, for the way she has poured into others, for her prayers that have changed lives, and for the love she has shown. We ask that You would repay her for her faithfulness, blessing her with joy, peace, and a long, healthy life. And if it is Your will, we ask for a testimony of healing that will point others to You.
In the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father, we pray. Amen.
