Breakthrough

Disciple of Prayer
Marcus lets me come back and moves my stuff back in. God touches his and anyone else’s involved heart and eyes to understand it is wrong to move my stuff out while I picked up my girl. God cancels whatever caused this. He feels shame for trying to make me homeless. No one condones this. He gives me $### to help me out. No one condones this.

We hear the pain and urgency in your request for breakthrough regarding your housing and your belongings being moved out while you were picking up your girl, and we are standing with you together before the Lord seeking His will in Jesus' name.

What was done to you was dishonoring and it is right to bring it before God. To have your things moved out while you were caring for your daughter and to be left facing homelessness is not loving or just. We pray that the Lord touches the heart and eyes of ### and anyone else involved, that He would convict them of the wrong and bring true understanding. The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. Proverbs 21:1. We do not ask for mere human shame that crushes a person, but for godly sorrow that works repentance. Godly sorrow works repentance to salvation which brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world works death. 2 Corinthians 7:10. And we remember, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We also pray you will be empowered to walk in forgiveness while still seeking what is right, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32.

We want to lovingly address your living situation in light of Scripture. You did not say whether ### is your husband. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible, and that God designed our homes to reflect that covenant. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. If you and ### are not married and are living together as if married, that is outside God's design and Scripture calls it fornication, Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. Being a boyfriend or girlfriend should be considered courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian believer, not a convenient living arrangement. If you are married, then your marriage covenant is to be protected and honored, and moving a spouse's belongings out to make them homeless violates that covenant. If you are not married, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and to pursue either a clear path toward godly marriage if you are both believers and called to marry, or to establish separate and holy living arrangements that honor God and provide stability for you and your daughter. This is also for your protection and for your girl's security.

We also pray for your practical needs. You asked for financial help and for your things to be restored, and God sees your need for a safe home. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. We ask the Lord to provide for you, to open doors for stable housing, to move on ###'s heart to act justly and restore what was taken, and whether through him or through other means, to supply what you need. At the same time we encourage you to seek wise and practical help through your local church family, trusted pastoral counsel, and if needed, lawful guidance regarding your belongings and housing rights, so you and your daughter are safe.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because of Jesus shedding His blood on the cross for our sins and rising again that we can come boldly to God, be forgiven, and receive new life. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior, to confess your sins to Him, and to follow Him.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and lift up our sister and her daughter to You. Lord, You see the hurt of being displaced and the fear of being made homeless. We ask You to cancel every scheme of the enemy that caused this division and to bring Your peace and order. Touch the heart of ### and anyone else involved, open their eyes to see that what was done was wrong, and lead them to repentance and to act justly by restoring her belongings and providing a safe place to return or a better place to dwell. Let no one condone injustice, but let Your righteousness and mercy prevail. Provide for her needs, Lord, for housing, for finances, for daily bread for her and her girl, and be her refuge. Heal any relationship that is not aligned with Your Word, set it on the foundation of holiness, and if it is Your will, lead them toward godly marriage that honors You, or give her wisdom and strength to walk in purity and boundaries apart. Above all, draw her closer to Jesus, assure her of Your love, and let this trial become a testimony of Your breakthrough and redemption. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to remain in prayer, to stay in the Word, and to lean on a Bible believing church community who can walk with you practically and spiritually in the days ahead. God sees you, He has not forgotten you or your girl, and He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way.

We were so sorry to read what happened while you were picking up your daughter, coming back to find your things moved out. That kind of surprise leaves you feeling exposed and unheard, and it makes sense you would long for someone to say clearly that this was not right and for a safe place to land.

We are praying with you for steadiness and dignity in these next days, and for wisdom for both you and ### as you navigate what comes next. We ask God to give you clarity about housing that is stable and honoring, and to work in every heart involved toward honesty and kindness.

One small step that often helps in a tense housing situation is to keep things calm and documented. If you need to talk with ### about your belongings, consider having a trusted friend, family member or pastor present, keeping communication in writing when you can, and reaching out to a local church or community housing resource for guidance on your options so you are not facing this alone.

Father, we lift this need to You and ask for Your protection and provision. Give peace in place of fear, show clear next steps for safe housing, and lead with Your wisdom and mercy. Give understanding where there has been hurt, and guard this family with Your care. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and we have heard your cry in this time of distress and uncertainty about your home and your child. To be displaced and to fear homelessness is a heavy trial, and it is right to bring your need before Him who restores the soul and who alone can give true peace.

We must speak to you plainly and in love concerning the way of restoration. The Scriptures teach that our first and deepest need is not the restoration of a dwelling or of a living arrangement, but the restoration of the soul to God. As it is written, He restores my soul, and there is nothing in us which could be pointed out as a claim for such mercy, yet the Lord Jesus has willed to save and He stands to His purpose. Peter was down, but he was soon up again, not by his own resolve, but by a look from the Lord which severed him from the crowd and brought him to repentance. That look was effectual because Christ had already prayed for him, and He prays still for His people. This is the pattern of all true restoration, that we are first reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

The word of reconciliation is this, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. We are not to work out a reconciliation of our own devising, but to receive the reconciliation which God has provided. Therefore we cannot ask God to bless or to reestablish a way of living together outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, for that is not the way He has ordained for our good and His glory. To pray otherwise would be to ask Him to affirm what His own Word does not affirm. What we may and do pray for is that you may be reconciled to God through faith in Christ alone, and that out of that reconciliation you may walk in holiness, wisdom and peace.

We also must gently correct the desire that another should be put to shame or compelled to give money. The spirit of the gospel does not seek shame for its own sake, but godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and it does not seek gain, but grace. If wrong has been done, we pray that the Lord would bring conviction where conviction is needed, and softness where hardness has been, not that any might be humiliated, but that all might see clearly and act justly and mercifully. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our calling is to seek His will and His provision.

So we bring this prayer before Him for you, that He would grant you repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, that you would know the joy of being reconciled to Him and receiving that reconciliation by faith. We pray that He who is the God of Peace would provide for your daily needs and for your child, that He would open a door for safe and honourable housing according to His wisdom, that He would give you godly counsel in your church family, and that He would work in every heart concerned to desire what is right and pure before Him. If you are bound in marriage, we pray for restoration within that covenant in holiness. If you are not, we pray for grace to live in purity and to seek His ordering of your steps, trusting His promise that He will provide for those who seek first His kingdom.

May the Lord turn His gracious look upon you as He did upon Peter, bringing not only outward relief but inward renewal, that you may be turned again to your hope and strengthened to walk in His ways.
