Break the curse of poverty

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Good evening, forgive my English... I would like to request a prayer about me and my family. We have been struggling with poverty since we were born. I can't find a breakthrough and I have been trying so many ways to make things work but nothing is working for us. Please help us with prayers.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Some resources that might help.

Needs: - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19(KJV)

Salvation: - So they said "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved you and your household." Acts 16:31(NKJV)

Healing: - But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5(NKJV)

Fulfillment by the Holy Spirit: - Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 4:6(KJV)

Persecutions: - But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Luke 6:27-28(KJV)

We hear the deep longing in your heart for deliverance from the cycle of poverty that has weighed on you and your family for so long. It is clear you have labored tirelessly, yet the breakthrough you seek has not come—and we know how wearying that can be. But take heart, beloved, for our God is the God of the impossible, the One who turns deserts into gardens and lack into abundance. He sees your struggle, and He is not indifferent to your cries.

First, let us remind you of this foundational truth: **there is no curse that can stand against the power of the blood of Jesus Christ.** The enemy may whisper lies that poverty is your destiny, but Scripture declares otherwise. In Deuteronomy 28:1-14, God promises blessings for obedience—blessings that overtake His people, not curses. Yet if generational poverty has felt like a curse, know that Christ has *redeemed us from the curse of the law*, becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). If there has been sin, idolatry, or unbelief in your lineage, the blood of Jesus breaks those chains today. You are not bound by your past or your family’s past—you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and He has plans to prosper you, not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11).

That said, we must also address this with honesty: **breakthrough often requires both divine intervention and our active obedience.** God is not a genie who grants wishes without our participation. He calls us to work with our hands (Ephesians 4:28), to seek wisdom (Proverbs 3:13-18), and to trust Him even when the path is unclear. Have you sought His wisdom in how to steward what little you have? Have you asked Him to reveal opportunities, even small ones, that you may have overlooked? Sometimes, the Lord provides through unexpected means—a skill you haven’t used, a connection you haven’t pursued, or a step of faith you’ve hesitated to take. Pray for open doors, but also ask God to show you if there’s an area where you need to repent, trust more fully, or act differently.

We also urge you to examine your heart: **Is your hope in God alone, or have you placed it in money, schemes, or even the prayers of others?** Jesus warns that we cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). If bitterness, envy, or despair has taken root because of your circumstances, ask the Lord to uproot it. A heart aligned with His will is fertile ground for His provision. Remember the widow in 1 Kings 17—she was down to her last meal when Elijah asked her to first make him a cake. Her obedience in the midst of lack led to a miracle: her jar of flour and oil never ran dry. What might God be asking *you* to do in faith, even now?

Lastly, we notice you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your request. This is not a small matter, beloved. **There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and no other name by which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).** If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we plead with you to do so today. Without Him, no prayer has power, no curse is broken, and no blessing is secured. But in Him, *all things* are possible (Matthew 19:26). If you have already trusted in Jesus, then we encourage you to pray *in His name*, for it is by His authority that we ask and receive.

Now, let us pray over you and your family:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul and their family. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh—the God who provides—and You see the generations of lack and struggle they have endured. We declare that every curse of poverty, every generational stronghold, and every scheme of the enemy is *broken* by the blood of Jesus. No weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20).

Father, we ask You to open their eyes to opportunities they haven’t seen. Give them wisdom to steward resources well, creativity to solve problems, and favor in the sight of those who can help. If there has been sin—idolatry, greed, or unbelief—we ask for conviction and repentance, that Your blessings may flow unhindered. Teach them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and command it to flee in Jesus’ name. Replace it with a spirit of generosity, diligence, and faith. Let this family experience Your supernatural provision—whether through unexpected income, debt cancellation, or doors opening that no man can shut. May they testify of Your faithfulness, that others may see and know that You are God.

And Father, if this one has not yet surrendered to Christ, we pray for salvation to come to their household. Let them know the hope of eternity with You, which far surpasses any earthly wealth. Fill them with Your peace, even in the waiting.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are good. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray—*Amen.*"

Beloved, stand firm in faith. Keep seeking God’s face, not just His hand. Read His Word daily, especially promises like Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Walk in obedience, and watch what He will do. We are praying with you—do not lose heart. Your breakthrough is coming.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when it feels like poverty has been a constant companion, but remember, God sees your struggle and He cares. He's not a distant observer, but a loving Father who wants the best for you.

We've been praying for breakthroughs too, and we know that sometimes, God uses unexpected paths to bring about change. Have you asked Him to open your eyes to opportunities you might have missed? To give you wisdom in managing what you have? To show you if there's an area where you need to trust Him more or make a change?

And hey, let's not forget to keep our hearts aligned with His. Bitterness, envy, or despair can block His blessings. But when our hearts are right, we're ready for His provision. Remember the widow in 1 Kings 17? She trusted God in the midst of lack, and He provided miraculously.

We're praying for you, that God would break every chain of poverty, open doors of opportunity, and fill your heart with peace. We're believing for your breakthrough, and we're here for you, every step of the way. Keep trusting, keep seeking, and watch what God will do. We're in this together.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
