Break free from financial bondage

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My father's financial life has been a challenge as far as I can remember, but now it's even worse especially the past ### years. I noticed that whenever I try to venture into business, there is no harvest for what I planted the same as my father's situation. Moreover every time I upgrade in my academics, funding from my father tends to reduce until now that I get none at all. Help me stand in prayer as I've been losing out on any financial investment I make.

We stand with you in this time of financial struggle, recognizing that the burdens you carry are not just material but deeply spiritual. The patterns of lack and frustration you describe—both in your father’s life and your own—suggest a generational stronghold that must be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. It is not by coincidence that your efforts to prosper seem to wither, nor is it mere circumstance that your academic progress has been met with diminishing support. These are signs of an enemy seeking to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we serve a God who comes to give life abundantly. You have not been abandoned, and this cycle *will* be broken by the power of Christ.

First, we must address the foundation of your request: the name of Jesus was not invoked in your plea. This is not a small matter, for Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is in His name that every chain of poverty, curses, and generational bondage is shattered. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9). Without this, no prayer for breakthrough can stand, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Now, to the financial bondage: the Bible warns that the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7), but in Christ, we are called to freedom—not just spiritual freedom, but freedom from the oppressive cycles of lack. Your father’s struggles do not have to be your inheritance. In Deuteronomy 28, God outlines blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, but Galatians 3:13-14 (WEB) proclaims: *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us... that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."* You are no longer under a curse if you are in Christ! The enemy has lied to you, telling you that your efforts will always fail, but we declare over you the truth of Philippians 4:19 (WEB): *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."*

Yet we must also examine the heart. Are there areas of disobedience—known sin, unbelief, or idolatry (such as trusting in money or human effort more than God)—that may be blocking your breakthrough? Repentance is key. In Haggai 1:5-6 (WEB), God rebukes His people: *"Now therefore this is what Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Consider your ways. You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes.’"* Could it be that your investments are like seeds sown in cursed ground? We must ask the Lord to reveal any hidden sin or ungodly soul ties (such as generational curses or ungodly agreements) that need to be broken.

As for your academic pursuits, we understand the frustration of striving only to see support vanish. But take heart: *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). If your education aligns with God’s will for your life, He *will* provide—even if it means supernatural doors opening through scholarships, mentors, or unexpected resources. Do not lean on your father’s inability; lean on God’s ability.

**Now, let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, declaring that every generational curse, every spirit of poverty, and every stronghold of lack over this beloved child of God and their family is *broken* today. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we command every demonic assignment against their finances to be nullified by the blood of Jesus. Father, forgive any sins—known or unknown—that have given the enemy legal ground to steal from this family. We renounce every ungodly soul tie, every curse spoken over their bloodline, and every agreement with lack or fear. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we cancel every evil transaction in the spiritual realm that has hindered their harvest.

Lord, we ask for divine wisdom in every financial decision (James 1:5). Open their eyes to see opportunities You have prepared for them, even in this season. Let every investment they make—whether in business, education, or ministry—be blessed and multiplied, for Your Word says *"The blessing of Yahweh brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it"* (Proverbs 10:22, WEB). Father, provide supernatural favor with lenders, employers, and mentors. If there are debts, give them a strategy to overcome them, for *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender"* (Proverbs 22:7, WEB)—but we declare they shall no longer be servants to lack!

For their academic journey, Lord, we ask for Your divine provision. If it is Your will for them to continue, make a way where there is no way. Bring forth scholarships, grants, or godly supporters who will sow into their future. Let no weapon formed against their progress prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Finally, Father, we pray for their father’s heart to turn to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and break every spirit of despair or unbelief that has kept him bound. Let this family experience a *double portion* restoration—spiritually, financially, and relationally—as a testimony of Your goodness.

We thank You, Lord, for the breakthrough that is already manifesting. Let faith arise in their heart, and let them walk in the confidence that *"all things whatever [they] ask in prayer, believing, [they] will receive"* (Matthew 21:22, WEB). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray—*Amen!*

**To you, beloved:** Stand firm in faith. Speak life over your finances daily—declare that you are *blessed to be a blessing* (Genesis 12:2). Fast if led, for some breakthroughs require spiritual warfare (Matthew 17:21). And remember: *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Keep seeking Him first, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33). You are *not* destined for lack—you are destined for abundance in Christ!

Dear friend, we're here with you, standing in faith for your financial breakthrough. We've been reflecting on your situation and feel led to share a few more things with you.

Firstly, we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in this matter. In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus tells us, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." So keep asking, seeking, and knocking. God sees your heart's desire and He's moved by your persistence.

Secondly, we want to remind you of God's promise in Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Remember, it's not about your ability or your father's, but about God's ability. He's more than able to supply all your needs.

Lastly, we want to suggest that you consider fasting and praying specifically about the generational bondage you mentioned. Sometimes, breaking free from cycles of lack requires spiritual warfare. In Matthew 17:21, Jesus says, "However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." So, if you feel led, we encourage you to fast and pray about this.

We're believing with you for a turnaround in your financial situation. Keep trusting in God's goodness and provision. You're not alone in this. We're standing with you, praying for you, and believing with you for a miracle.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your family’s financial struggles before the Lord in prayer these past few days. It is our privilege to stand with you in agreement, crying out to our Heavenly Father for breakthrough in the generational bondage that has weighed so heavily on your father—and now on you—as you seek to steward opportunities and pursue your education.

We know the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who redeems, restores, and multiplies what has been lost. We have been praying specifically against the spirit of lack and futility that has hindered both your father’s provisions and your own efforts—whether in business, academics, or investments—and we declare that the curse of empty harvests is broken in Jesus’ name. The Lord sees your faithfulness, and we trust He is already moving behind the scenes to open doors no man can shut, to provide in ways that surpass your expectations, and to turn what has been a cycle of scarcity into a testimony of His abundance.

If you’ve begun to see even the smallest shift—a unexpected provision, a restored relationship with your father, or a new opportunity—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Even a mustard seed of hope is worth celebrating, because it confirms God is at work. But if the burden still feels heavy, please don’t hesitate to post an update or a new request. We are here to continue contending with you, speaking life over your finances, your education, and your future. The Lord is not done writing your story, and we believe He will turn this struggle into a powerful testimony of His faithfulness.

May you sense His peace in the waiting, and may His Spirit guide your steps as you seek Him first. We are standing with you, believing that what the enemy meant for harm, God will use for your good and His glory.
