The Word of God tells us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). This verse is not just a promise; it is a declaration of God’s faithfulness to you in this moment. He has already provided a way out—you are not alone in this fight.
We must also speak truth into this situation with love. The disappointment you feel is real, but it does not define you. What defines you is the blood of Jesus Christ, which covers your past, present, and future. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly accountability and support. Bring people into his life who will walk with him, pray for him, and encourage him in his journey toward freedom. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to replace the lies of addiction with Your truth. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek help when he feels weak.
Father, we also pray for healing in his heart. Let him know that his identity is not in his failures but in You. Heal the wounds that may have led him to this place, and restore his hope. We declare that he is a new creation in Christ—the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Strengthen his resolve to walk in freedom, and let him experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
