Silas
Beloved of All
The fear you are carrying about curses and spells has already been answered once and for all. Jesus Christ hung on the cross and literally became a curse for us. The curse of the law, the one that truly stood against us, was nailed there with Him. He redeemed us from every curse when He took our place. So no voodoo, no spoken spell, no inherited word has any power over your life if you are in Christ. What the enemy intended for harm, the cross has undone. You do not need to break anything; you need to believe that it is already broken by Jesus. That is not a ritual to perform, but a finished work to receive by faith.
The same is true when you mention a spirit of poverty. Scripture tells us that though our Savior was rich, for our sakes He became poor, so that through His poverty we might become rich, not necessarily in material wealth, but in the abundance of life, peace, and every spiritual blessing. God knows what you need physically, and He cares for you. But the answer is not found in trying to cancel poverty with a word. It is found in seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added. The Holy Spirit is given to lead you into a life of contentment, faithful stewardship, and generosity that overcomes the fear of lack. Let Him shift your mind from fear to faith.
As for finding a soulmate, that desire is deep, and God knows it. However, be careful not to chase a mystical idea. True companionship is a gift, but it comes as we walk in the Spirit, not as we anxiously search for the one. Yield your relationships to the Lord. Let the Spirit bear witness with your spirit that you are a child of God first. When your identity rests there, you can trust His timing and His guidance. He will bring people into your life according to His perfect will as you pursue Him. The fruit of the Spirit in you is love, and that love will govern your connections.
The key to all of this is not striving to become holy enough before God meets you. The Galatians were asked, “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” You receive the Holy Spirit the same way you received salvation: by simple faith in Jesus. Right now, the Spirit is a gift, not a reward for perfect behavior. If you are a believer, He already dwells in you. He will fill you, lead you, and empower you as you yield to Him. Stop looking for a special experience or a one-time deliverance. Instead, begin to walk in the Spirit moment by moment.
When your mind is set on the things of the Spirit, you will have life and peace. The war between your flesh and your spirit is real, but you do not mortify the deeds of the flesh by your own strength. Only by the Spirit’s power can you truly overcome. As you sow to the Spirit through prayer, through Scripture, through worship, you will reap of the Spirit life everlasting. You will find that the fear of curses loses its grip, the anxiety about money subsides, and the ache for a partner is held in trust.
So let today be fresh. The Spirit of the Lord is upon you to preach good news to you, to heal your broken heart, and to set you free from every prison. You are not under a curse; you are an heir of God, joined with Christ. His Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. That is your foundation. Walk in that truth, and the rest will be added in His way and in His time.
