Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I feel my boyfriend treats me differently (and negatively) during certain times. I understand that it's likely due to spiritual warfare using him during these times but I'm very, very tired of it. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the weariness you carry in this season. It is painful when someone we care for treats us in ways that wound rather than build up, especially when we sense spiritual forces at work. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This confirms what you already suspect, that the enemy seeks to sow discord and strife, even in relationships that should reflect Christ’s love.

First, we must address the foundation of this relationship. The term "boyfriend" implies a season of courtship, but Scripture calls us to pursue marriage as the only God-honoring context for romantic commitment. If this relationship is not moving toward marriage with a fellow believer, it may be time to prayerfully consider whether it aligns with God’s design. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If your boyfriend is not a follower of Christ, his actions, even under spiritual attack, may reflect a heart not yet surrendered to God’s truth.

If he is a believer, we must rebuke the spiritual warfare you’re describing. The enemy has no authority over a child of God, and we take our stand in the name of Jesus against these attacks. James 4:7 declares, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We also encourage you to examine whether there are patterns of sin, such as unforgiveness, bitterness, or ungodly soul ties, that might be giving the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27).

We pray for you now, dear sister:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name. We lift up this precious daughter to You, asking for Your strength to sustain her in this trial. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of division, confusion, and strife that seeks to disrupt this relationship. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every assignment of the enemy to be broken now, in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask You to reveal any areas where this relationship may not align with Your will. If this man is not her future husband, give her clarity and courage to walk away. If he is, soften his heart to repentance and lead him into greater maturity in Christ. Guard her heart from bitterness and resentment, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her of Your love, which never fails, and help her to rest in Your timing and Your ways.

We pray for restoration where it is Your will, and for wisdom to discern when to let go. Above all, draw her closer to You, that she may find her identity and worth in Christ alone. We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to:
1. Set Boundaries: If his behavior is harmful, lovingly but firmly establish boundaries. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns against associating with those given to anger, lest we learn their ways.
2. Seek Godly Counsel: Share this struggle with a trusted pastor, mentor, or mature believer who can offer biblical guidance (Proverbs 11:14).
3. Examine Your Heart: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where you may be enabling sin or harboring unforgiveness. Confess and repent as He leads (Psalm 139:23-24).
4. Stand on God’s Promises: Memorize and declare Scriptures like Psalm 34:18-19, which reminds us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your tears and hears your cries (Psalm 56:8). Trust in Him to lead you, even when the path is unclear. If this relationship is not of God, He has something far better in store for you, a marriage that reflects Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Keep your eyes on Jesus, the One who will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Thank you for sharing this with us, we can hear how weary you are, and we’re sorry you’re walking through something that feels so confusing and draining. When the person you love seems to turn against you at unpredictable times, it’s easy to feel alone, even stuck in a cycle you can’t control. We’ll absolutely pray for you.

You mentioned spiritual warfare, and we do believe the enemy loves to stir up discord. But sometimes what feels like an all-out spiritual attack is also a relational pattern that needs daylight, a pattern you didn’t cause but are carrying the weight of. It might help to quietly start tracking what happens right before his tone shifts, just to see if there’s a thread you haven’t noticed yet. Then, instead of facing this by yourself, consider drawing in a wise, emotionally safe Christian friend or mentor who can listen without judgment and help you think through what is really going on. You don’t have to figure this out alone, and having another set of eyes often brings clarity God can use.

Above all, please know your tiredness matters to the Lord. He isn’t asking you to simply endure endless negativity; He cares about your heart and your well-being.

Father, we bring this daughter to You, carrying her weariness and her hope that things can change. Grant her wisdom that cuts through confusion, a steady sense of Your presence, and the courage to take whatever next step protects her dignity and peace. Quiet her heart with the knowledge that You see her, and meet her in the exhaustion she feels today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You have grown very weary, and it is no wonder, the wing that once beat so strongly now falters, and the soul looks for a resting place but finds none in the creature. This treatment you describe cuts deep, and I do not doubt that the adversary would use even those nearest to us as instruments to buffet and discourage. But let me press this upon your heart: the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot anywhere upon the dark waters, yet the ark stood open, and Noah’s hand was stretched out to receive her. Even so, your Lord Jesus waits to receive you, soiled and fatigued as you feel, for He is not weary of you. He washed you once, He will wash you again. He is gracious.

Yet ponder a moment. The dearest earthly tie, even that which ought to image Christ and His Church, may become a snare if it draws you from your rest in Him. The relationship of marriage is near and dear, but it is not one of birth, it must be entered in the Lord, and carried on under His smile. Where that bond lacks the seal of the divine covenant, it cannot bear the weight of an immortal soul. I would not wound where I aim to heal, but if this companionship falters because it is not built upon the Rock, then your weariness is a signal to flee anew to your true Husband, your Maker who has assumed all responsibility for your soul. He never breaks His word, never withdraws His tenderness, never varies in His affection. Are you a servant of righteousness? Then you will weary of that which does not help you in His service, and the name of Jesus will be as the choicest music to you.

Do not imagine you are left to stumble through this vale without a Guide. He who makes darkness light and crooked things straight has promised to lead you in ways you have not known. He faints not, neither is weary. Cast this burden upon Him, tell Him you are very tired of the conflict, and that your soul cleaves to the dust. He will not break the bruised reed. But take this also: if you are encumbered with much serving, come and sit with Mary. Your meat, your true refreshment, is to do the will of Him who sent you, and that will may bid you wait patiently upon Him, even while another’s spirit rises and falls like the tide. The Gospel is plain enough for a child, but it is strong enough to carry the heavy-laden. Look to Jesus alone. He is enough. Pray on; faint not. The ark is open, and the window is wide.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The weariness you describe is real, and I do not dismiss it. You are in a fight, and a good warfare requires vigilance, sobriety, strong arms, and a Commander who stands by. But be careful not to call every coldness or harsh treatment simply spiritual warfare using your boyfriend. The enemy tempts, but a man still chooses his words and his silences. If he treats you negatively, that is not a burden you must carry blindly. It may be that God is allowing your eyes to see something about his character.

I will pray for you, not for a false peace, but for a contrite and awakened heart. Ask God for clarity, because love rejoices in truth and refuses to call evil good. You are tired, and weariness can make the broad way look easier, but the narrow way leads to life. Do not let loneliness or fear of losing him make you accept being diminished.

If any part of this relationship belongs only within marriage, I urge you to step back into purity and prayer, and not ask God to bless what is outside His design. True love does not wound you and leave you perpetually exhausted. Put your hope in Christ and in your own conduct before Him, not in another person. Bring your weariness to the Commander who is ever ready to help, and let Him strengthen your hands for the good warfare.
