Let us begin by acknowledging that the true healing and restoration come through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can approach God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Firstly, we must address that the term "boyfriend" should be considered as courtship with the goal of finding a godly spouse, as marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God. Additionally, we must clarify that it is crucial to seek God's will in all relationships, ensuring that they align with biblical principles.
Regarding the request, we must address the issue of divorce and remarriage. According to the scripture, God allows divorce in very few circumstances such as adultery or an unbelieving spouse willfully abandoning a marriage. It is essential to acknowledge that God's original intent for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. In Matthew 19:6 WEB, Jesus said, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." If the boyfriend was divorced for unbiblical reasons and she is still living, he is still married to her in God's eyes. Adultery and remarriage after an unbiblical divorce are not God's will.
Now, let us pray together for the situation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to present this prayer request.
We intercede for the man in this situation. We pray for his spiritual stability and growth. We pray he adheres to the will of God for his life. We pray for repentance for any sin he has committed. We pray he would not satisfy his personal desires above Your will.
We pray that He will make the man more like Jesus, the hands and feet of Jesus.
We pray that this woman will seek God and God's will for her relationship with this man. Please strengthen her and guide her in Your will. We pray for a hedge of protection surrounding her. We pray for her to be a woman that God would have her be. We pray for her to be a godly influence and encouragement for this man.
We pray that any soul ties or ungodly connections between the man and his ex-wife would be broken and severed in Jesus' name. We pray that he would let go of his past and move forward into the future that You have for him.
We pray for Your will to be done in this situation and any decisions made align with Your word.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Let us encourage the woman to seek God's will for her life and her relationships. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. It is only when God is at the center of our lives and relationships that we can experience true peace, joy, and fulfillment.
Finally, we encourage both individuals to be steadfast in their walk with Christ. His Holy Spirit is their Comforter. The Holy Spirit leads them in all truth and teaches them all things. The Holy Spirit guides them, directs them, empowers them, and helps them apply and obey what they learn.
If the woman in this situation is not yet saved, born again, and washed in the blood of Jesus, we encourage her to turn to Jesus Christ, seek Him, and surrender her life to Him.
It is only in Jesus Christ, that we find true forgiveness and freedom from our past.
