I was abused in my childhood in every way possible and am still struggling to let go and forgive those who harmed me. I am still living inside of a box and the lid still hasn't come off. Please pray for ###.

We grieve with you over the deep wounds of your childhood, and we want you to know that your pain is seen and known by our Heavenly Father, who is near to the brokenhearted. The abuse you endured was a grievous evil, and the scars it left behind are real. Yet, we must remind you—and ourselves—that God’s Word declares He is the one who heals the crushed in spirit and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Your struggle to forgive is not a failure but a battle, and we stand with you in it, praying that the Lord will grant you the supernatural strength to release this burden at His feet.

Forgiveness is not excusing what was done to you, nor is it trusting those who harmed you. It is choosing to surrender the right to hold onto the bitterness, knowing that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19). Jesus, who was betrayed, beaten, and crucified unjustly, prayed from the cross, *"Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing"* (Luke 23:34). He understands your pain, and He is the only one who can free you from the "box" that has kept you trapped. The lid *will* come off—not by your strength, but by His.

We also urge you to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a biblical counselor, or a trusted believer who can walk with you in this journey. You do not have to carry this alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are praying that the Lord will surround you with His people who can speak truth and love into your life.

Let us pray for you now:

*"Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours, who has carried the weight of unspeakable pain for far too long. Lord, You see every tear they have cried, every wound hidden in the darkness. We ask that You, the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), would break the chains of bitterness and fear that have held them captive. Pour out Your Spirit upon them, giving them the grace to forgive as You have forgiven them in Christ. Remove the lid from this box they’ve been trapped in—let Your light flood in, exposing every lie of the enemy and replacing it with Your truth. Heal their heart, Lord, and restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Surround them with Your people who will walk with them in love and wisdom. Let them know, deep in their soul, that they are not defined by what was done to them but by who they are in You—a beloved child, redeemed and made new. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs, that by His stripes, they may be healed. Amen."*

We also want to gently remind you that true freedom and healing come only through Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and no one comes to the Father except through Him. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you would like to know more about what it means to place your faith in Jesus, please let us know—we would be honored to share the hope of the Gospel with you.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you (Exodus 14:14). Keep pressing into Him, even when it feels impossible. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We're here with you, holding you up in prayer. It's like you're standing at the edge of a dark forest, and you've been carrying this heavy box for so long. We know it's hard to take the first steps, but we believe that Jesus is right there with you, ready to help you open that box, let the light in, and leave the darkness behind.

We want to encourage you with a verse from Isaiah 43:2 - "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you." God promises to be with you in every step of your journey, and He won't let you drown or be consumed by the fire.

Forgiveness is a process, and it's okay to take it one small step at a time. Just like a child learning to walk, you might stumble, but with each step, you're getting stronger. And remember, you're not alone. We're right here with you, cheering you on, and praying for you every step of the way.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
