I'm still in a lot of pain because of the abuse that I suffered in my childhood. I would like God to give me the strength to let go of it and to be able to forgive my mother and accusers. I'm also struggling with my sexuality. I feel really overwhelmed. Please pray for me.

We grieve with you over the deep wounds of childhood abuse and the overwhelming struggles you face, and we want you to know that God sees your pain and longs to bring healing and restoration to your heart. The betrayal and suffering you endured were never His will for you, and He weeps with you over the injustice done to you. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is your refuge, your healer, and the One who can carry this burden for you when it feels too heavy to bear.

First, let us address the pain of your past. Forgiveness is not excusing what was done to you—it was evil, and God’s heart breaks over it—but it is releasing the power that bitterness and resentment have over your life. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Forgiveness is a process, and it doesn’t mean you must reconcile with those who hurt you, especially if they remain unrepentant or unsafe. But it does mean trusting God to be your vindicator and allowing Him to work in their lives while you walk in freedom. You don’t have to do this in your own strength—ask the Holy Spirit to help you, step by step. He is faithful to lead you into the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also want to speak to the struggle with your sexuality. We know this is a deeply personal and painful area, and we approach it with love and truth, not condemnation. God’s design for sexuality is clear in Scripture: it is a beautiful gift meant to be expressed within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any expression outside of this—whether heterosexual immorality, homosexuality, or lustful thoughts—is sin, but it is not an unforgivable sin, nor does it define your identity in Christ. You are not your struggles; you are a beloved child of God, created in His image (Genesis 1:27). The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."* Notice the hope in those words: *"Such were some of you."* This means change is possible through the power of Christ! He can redeem and transform every area of your life as you surrender to Him.

If you have not yet confessed these struggles to Jesus, we urge you to do so. He already knows your heart, and He longs for you to bring everything into the light so He can heal you. 1 John 1:9 says, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* There is no shame in coming to Him—only grace and mercy. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor or a biblical counselor who can walk with you in this journey. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Lastly, we notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so. He is the only One who can save you, heal you, and give you eternal life. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* If you have already trusted in Christ, then we encourage you to approach the throne of grace boldly in His name, knowing that He intercedes for you (Hebrews 4:16, Romans 8:34).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is carrying such heavy burdens—wounds from the past, the pain of abuse, and the struggle with sexuality. Lord, You see every tear they’ve cried, every moment of fear and confusion, and You are not distant. You are near, and You long to heal them. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon them, filling them with Your peace that transcends all understanding. Give them the strength to forgive those who have sinned against them, not in their own power, but through the grace You provide. Help them to release the bitterness and pain into Your hands, trusting You to bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing.

Lord, we also pray for clarity and conviction regarding their sexuality. Father, in a world that distorts Your design, we ask that You would anchor them in Your truth. Help them to see themselves as You see them—redeemed, loved, and made new in Christ. Give them the courage to turn away from any thought or desire that does not align with Your Word, and fill them with a hunger for righteousness. Surround them with godly community who can support and encourage them in this journey.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell them they are defined by their pain or their struggles. We declare that they are defined by the blood of Jesus, which cleanses them from all sin and makes them a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day they turn to You in faith, confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. If they have already trusted in You, we pray for a fresh filling of Your Spirit, that they would walk in victory and freedom.

Father, we ask that You would provide them with wise, biblical counsel and a community of believers who can walk alongside them in love and truth. Heal their heart, renew their mind, and restore their joy. Let them know, deep in their soul, that they are not alone—You are with them, and You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap and lifting you up to our Heavenly Father. We know the weight of the past can be overwhelming, and the struggle with your sexuality can feel like a heavy burden to bear alone. But remember, you're not alone. We're here, and more importantly, God is always with you.

We want to encourage you today. Forgiveness is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. Trust that God is faithful to lead you, and He will give you the strength to forgive as you surrender each step to Him. Remember, forgiveness isn't about excusing the past, but releasing the power bitterness has over your life. It's about trusting God to be your vindicator and allowing Him to work in the lives of those who hurt you.

Regarding your sexuality, we want you to know that God sees you, loves you, and has a purpose for you. His design for sexuality is clear, and any expression outside of that can cause harm and hurt. But here's the beautiful thing - God's love for you is not conditional. He loves you just as you are, and He wants to help you walk in freedom and righteousness. It's possible through the power of Christ. He can redeem and transform every area of your life as you surrender to Him.

We urge you to confess these struggles to Jesus. He already knows your heart, and He longs for you to bring everything into the light so He can heal you. There's no shame in coming to Him - only grace and mercy. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor or a biblical counselor who can walk with you in this journey. You don't have to carry this alone.

Lastly, we want to remind you that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. If you haven't yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so. He is the only one who can save you, heal you, and give you eternal life.

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting your heart before the Father in prayer these past few days. Your vulnerability in sharing such deep wounds has moved us, and we have been earnestly interceding for God’s healing touch to reach the broken places within you—those tender places where childhood pain still lingers. We know the Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is drawing near to you even now, for He promises to be close to the brokenhearted.

We have prayed for the supernatural strength to release the weight of what was done to you, asking God to replace bitterness with His peace and unforgiveness with His love. Forgiveness is a journey, and we’ve asked the Holy Spirit to guide you step by step, reminding you that His grace is sufficient for even this. We’ve also been praying for clarity and surrender in the struggle with your sexuality, that God would meet you in the confusion and overwhelm, anchoring your identity in Christ alone. His truth is a lamp to your feet, and we trust He will lead you gently into freedom.

If the Lord has begun to lift the burden or bring moments of breakthrough, we would love to rejoice with you—please share a praise report so we can give Him glory together. If the pain still feels heavy or the path unclear, know that we are here to stand with you for as long as it takes. You are not forgotten, and your struggle is not too great for our God. Post again whenever you need us to keep praying; we are committed to walking with you in this.

May the Father continue to reveal His heart for you, washing over you with His love and truth. May you sense His presence in the quiet moments, reminding you that you are deeply cherished by Him. We are believing for your complete healing and restoration, trusting that He who began this good work in you will carry it to completion.

In Jesus Name.
