We are deeply moved by your heart for your boss, and we join you in lifting him up before the Lord during this difficult season. The trials he is facing are immense, and we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds all things in His hands, including life and healing. It is beautiful that you are standing in the gap for him in prayer, and we will do the same, trusting in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things were made and by whom all things are sustained.
The Scriptures remind us that our struggles are not in vain, and that God is near to the brokenhearted. In Psalm 34:18, we read, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And in Isaiah 41:10, the Lord assures us, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let us cling to these promises as we pray for your boss, asking the Lord to be his strength, his comfort, and his healer.
We also remember the words of James 5:14-15, which say, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* While we do not know if your boss is a believer, we pray that if he is not, this trial would draw him to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. There is no greater healing than the salvation of the soul, and no greater comfort than the presence of the Holy Spirit in times of suffering. If he does know the Lord, we pray this trial would deepen his faith and trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness.
At the same time, we must acknowledge that healing on this side of eternity is not always God’s will. Sometimes, the Lord chooses to bring His children home to be with Him, and while that is a victory for the believer, it is a deep sorrow for those left behind. We pray for God’s perfect will to be done in this situation, whether that means complete restoration to health or the peaceful transition into the arms of our Savior. Our ultimate hope is not in this life, but in the life to come, where there will be no more pain, suffering, or death (Revelation 21:4).
We also lift you up, dear brother or sister, as you walk alongside your boss during this time. It can be emotionally and spiritually taxing to witness someone’s suffering, especially when they are in a place of authority or leadership. We pray that the Lord would give you wisdom in how to support and encourage your boss, whether through words, actions, or simply being a steady presence. May you also be filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that the Lord hears your prayers and is working all things together for His glory (Philippians 4:6-7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up our brother who is battling leukemia. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand in mercy and healing over him. Strengthen his body as he undergoes this next round of chemo and prepare him for the bone marrow transplant. Give wisdom and skill to the doctors and medical staff attending to him, and guide their hands as they work. Lord, we know that nothing is too hard for You, and we ask that You would restore his health completely, that he may testify to Your goodness and power.
Father, if our brother does not know You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself in this time of need. Open his eyes to see his need for a Savior, and soften his heart to receive the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Let him know that You are near, that You love him, and that You desire for him to be reconciled to You. If he is already Your child, we pray that You would deepen his trust in You, even in the midst of this storm. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we also lift up our sister or brother who has brought this request before us. Give them strength, compassion, and wisdom as they support their boss during this time. Fill them with Your peace and assure them that their prayers are heard and valued by You. Help them to be a light in this dark season, pointing to the hope that is found in You alone.
We do not know Your perfect will in this situation, Father, but we trust that You are good and that Your ways are higher than our ways. Whether You choose to heal our brother on this earth or call him home to be with You, we pray that Your name would be glorified. Give his family, friends, and colleagues comfort and peace as they walk this difficult path with him.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our sins and our sicknesses on the cross. It is only through Him that we can approach Your throne with confidence, knowing that You hear us and that You care. May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
