Beloved Warrior
Evangelistic Outreach Cancelled b/c of RAIN??? Bored stiff... Stepmom still thinks God has special plan for "good people" who tried their best ---> So God basically made a mistake in sending Christ because if everyone who did their best is saved, then why would Jesus have "come into the world to save sinners," 1 Tim 1:15... It's the deception of good works that is by and large the fruit of the false teaching of Roman Catholicism where there are many things that can earn heaven for you beside Jesus alone, contrary to grace, Eph 2:8-9. She ca't stand the thought that her mother, a virtuous woman, yet never came to fully trust in Christ isn't saved...

Because of this they invite me over once a week maybe -- truth is she can't tolerate my evangelistic zeal, and I pray and study all day. I'm stuck here 5 mo months and glad I didn't do a 1 yr lease... Thank you in Jesus' Name

Please pray I know what to do next, come Lord Jesus...

Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Matthew 1:21
She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

Luke 5:32
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

We hear the heaviness in your heart, dear brother, as you wrestle with the weight of truth in a home where the Gospel is resisted rather than received. The frustration of canceled outreach due to rain may seem small, but we know the deeper storm rages in the deception your stepmother clings to—the dangerous lie that "good people" who "try their best" can earn salvation apart from Christ. This is not merely a difference of opinion; it is a matter of eternal life and death, and we must stand firm on the unshakable truth of Scripture.

Your stepmother’s belief echoes the false gospel of works-based righteousness, which the apostle Paul rebukes in Ephesians 2:8-9: *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."* The Roman Catholic teaching she may have been influenced by distorts the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice, adding human effort where only the blood of Jesus can atone. This is no small error—it is a damning deception that leads souls away from the narrow gate. Jesus did not come to reward the "virtuous" but to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), and no amount of human goodness can bridge the chasm of sin that separates us from a holy God. Your stepmother’s inability to accept that her mother, though kind, is lost without Christ reveals the hardness of heart that comes from trusting in self rather than the Savior.

We must also address the isolation you feel, stuck in a home where your evangelistic zeal is met with resistance. It is a painful reality that those who love darkness will often reject the light (John 3:19-20). Yet we are called to be salt and light, even in unwelcoming places. Your commitment to prayer and study is not in vain—God sees your faithfulness and will use it for His glory. The fact that you did not commit to a year-long lease is a small mercy, but we must trust the Lord to open the next door in His perfect timing.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who stands for truth in a home where deception has taken root. Lord, we ask that You would soften his stepmother’s heart to receive the Gospel in its fullness—that she would see the futility of trusting in her own goodness and turn to Christ alone for salvation. Break the chains of works-based righteousness that bind her, and let her eyes be opened to the beauty of Your grace. Father, we also pray for our brother’s next steps. Give him wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, when to stay and when to go. Provide him with fellowship, opportunities for outreach, and the peace that comes from trusting in Your sovereign plan. Guard his heart from discouragement, and fill him with boldness to proclaim the truth, even when it is unwelcome. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved, for there is no other foundation than Christ alone. Amen.

We encourage you to cling to the promise of Luke 19:10: *"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."* Your stepmother’s resistance does not mean your labor is in vain. Continue to pray for her, love her, and trust that God can use even the smallest seeds of truth to bring about repentance. In the meantime, seek out like-minded believers who can strengthen and encourage you. The Lord may be using this season to prepare you for greater ministry elsewhere. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9).

As for the canceled evangelistic outreach, remember that God’s plans are not thwarted by rain—or by anything else. He may be redirecting you to a more fruitful opportunity. Stay sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and do not despise small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10). The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). Trust that the Lord will guide your steps as you seek to obey Him.

We're right there with you, feeling the tension and the love for your stepmom that's driving you to share the truth. It's tough, isn't it? Seeing someone you care about clinging to a false hope, when the reality of Christ's saving grace is so clear.

Let's remember together, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10). That's us, that's your stepmom, that's everyone. Jesus didn't come for the righteous, but for sinners like you and me. So, let's keep praying, keep loving, and keep sharing the truth in love.

We know it's hard, feeling stuck and unable to reach out as you'd like. But remember, even when it feels like you're not making progress, every seed of truth planted is a step towards the light. Keep watering those seeds with your prayers and your love.

And hey, maybe the rain that canceled your outreach was God's way of saying, "Not today, but soon." He's got a plan, and it's bigger than any one event or conversation. Trust that He's working, even when you can't see it.

So, let's keep standing firm on the truth, keep loving, and keep looking for those open doors. Because we know, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this challenging time. It’s clear that your heart is burdened—not only for your stepmother’s understanding of the Gospel but also for the lost souls around you, including her mother. We have lifted you up before the Lord, asking Him to grant you wisdom, patience, and discernment as you navigate this season. The weight of evangelistic zeal can feel heavy when met with resistance, and we’ve prayed that God would sustain you, refresh your spirit, and open doors for His truth to be received in love.

We’ve also prayed specifically for your stepmother, that the Holy Spirit would soften her heart to the message of grace—salvation through Christ alone, not works or human effort. It’s a painful deception to believe that goodness or effort can earn heaven, and we’ve asked the Lord to reveal the truth of Ephesians 2:8-9 to her in a way that pierces her understanding. We’ve also interceded for her mother, trusting that God’s mercy extends even now, and that He is able to draw her to Himself in ways we cannot see.

As you seek the Lord’s direction for what comes next, we’ve asked Him to make your path clear—whether that means staying to continue planting seeds, transitioning to a new season, or finding creative ways to share the Gospel without causing further division. You are not alone in this; we stand with you, believing that Christ came to seek and save the lost, just as Luke 19:10 declares.

If the Lord has already answered any part of this prayer—whether in your heart, your circumstances, or even in small breakthroughs with your stepmother—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the burden still feels heavy and the way forward unclear, please share this request again so we can continue to lift you up. May the Lord bless you with His peace, guide your steps, and fill you with His love as you press into Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
