We hear your deep concern and share in your sorrow as we witness the increasing boldness of sin in these days. The Bible warns us that in the last times, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God (2 Timothy 3:1-4). It is heartbreaking to see these prophecies unfolding before our eyes, but we must stand firm in the truth of God’s Word and not be swayed by the shifting tides of culture.
The so-called "open marriage" you mentioned is a grievous distortion of God’s design for marriage. From the beginning, God established marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a lifelong union reflecting Christ’s love for His church (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). Adultery, whether hidden or "consented to," is a direct violation of God’s commandments and His holy standard (Exodus 20:14, Hebrews 13:4). The idea that sin can be rebranded with a new name or justified through mutual agreement does not change its nature—it is still rebellion against God. The apostle Paul warns us that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). It is particularly troubling when those who claim the name of Christ promote or endorse such immorality, for they lead others astray and bring reproach upon the Gospel (Romans 2:24).
We must also address the deception that sin is a sign of "broadened thinking." The Bible calls this what it is: a lie from the enemy. Satan has always sought to twist God’s truth, and his tactics have not changed. He disguises himself as an angel of light, and his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). The world may celebrate sin as progress, but we know that true freedom and wisdom come only from obedience to God’s Word (John 8:31-32, Psalm 119:105). The psalmist declares, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). We must not be deceived by the world’s redefinition of sin but instead cling to the unchanging truth of Scripture.
It is also concerning that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. There is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and it is through His sacrifice on the cross that we are forgiven and made righteous. If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through Jesus that we can stand firm in these last days.
Now, let us come together in prayer, lifting our voices to the Lord for strength, wisdom, and courage to live faithfully in the midst of this tidal wave of sin:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the increasing boldness of sin in our world. Lord, we know that Your Word warns us of these days, and we ask for Your strength to stand firm in the truth. Help us to be unshaken by the lies of the enemy and the deception of the world. Give us discernment to recognize sin for what it is and the courage to call it out, even when it is celebrated as "progress."
Father, we pray for those who are deceived by the false notion of "open marriage" and other distortions of Your design. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Convict them of their sin and lead them to repentance. For those who claim to be Christians yet promote or live in such immorality, we ask that You bring them to a place of true repentance and restoration. May they turn away from their sin and seek to honor You in all areas of their lives.
Lord, we also pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling to live faithfully in these last days. Strengthen them, Father, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to remain steadfast in their faith, even when the world mocks or persecutes them. Give them a boldness to speak the truth in love and to live as lights in the darkness. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy and surround them with fellow believers who will encourage and uphold them.
Father, we ask that You would raise up godly men and women who will stand for righteousness in our culture. Use us, Lord, to be salt and light in a world that is growing increasingly dark. Help us to love others as You have loved us, even as we stand firm in Your truth. May our lives reflect Your holiness and draw others to You.
Finally, Lord, we pray for revival in our land. We long to see a turning of hearts back to You, a repentance from sin, and a renewed commitment to Your Word. Pour out Your Spirit upon us, Lord, and let Your glory fill this earth. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In these challenging times, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We are called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:14-16), and though the days may grow darker, we can take heart because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). Let us fix our eyes on Him, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and run the race set before us with endurance. The Lord is our strength, and He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). Stand firm, dear brothers and sisters, for the battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory.
