Boast in Weakness 2 Cor 12:9 Bridal Tongue Jam 1:19-27 Weakness to Strength Discipline's End Heb 12:11 How to Speak Jn 12:49 Soft Words Zech 1:13

Beloved Warrior
šŸ™‡šŸ» Father, thank You for giving mercy and grace in times of need, Heb 4:16, past and now in present. Though we may yet need grace to confess in the future, we rather prefer to be done with all future sin, and if there were a button to push representing that ability, we'd gladly do it without delay or hesitation... Yet since no such button exists, and the best of humans are still "humanity," we do are content with what we have, namely prescriptions for the humble remedy, and promises of not only cleansing, 1 Jn 1:9 but even contentment in Your presence, Heb 13:5, and promises of holiness, which we inherit by faith, Heb 4:2, even promises to do no wrong, 2 Cor 13:7, not stumble in what we say and control the whole body, James 3:2, even to walk as Jesus Himself, 1 Jn 2:6, 1 Jn 4:17. We continue the remedy of our misuse of the instrument we were given to glorify God and edify others, in confession and repentance, for sanctification both a one-time act and an ongoing work of participation with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, Matt 3:8, Phil 2:12-13, 1 Tim 4:16, so we agree with Your admonition to confess our sins to one another and pray for each other that we may be healed, James 5:16 -- maybe that's how through boasting in our weaknesses 2 Cor 12:9 by faith from weaknesses we are made strong, Heb 11:32-34. So in obedience to Your teaching through Hosea, we, "Take words with you, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, 'Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips as bulls" Hos 14:2.

šŸ“ Lord, I've missed Your warnings, not hearkened to Your Spirit's leading, haven't taken the way of escape in every occurrence. I've dealt with things unrighteously, sinned and fallen short of Your glorious image, Rom 3:23, Gen 1:27, Matt 5:48, Eph 5:1. I've lacked love, have gotten "in the flesh," have said and typed things in with a mixture of emotions, even in anger, that even while true have either lacked love or forgotten the foundation of equality for the sake of Christ, Eph 5:21, maybe both or all of the following: I have done things mixed with pride and empty conceit, and in times of pain have said, spoken, typed, forwarded and done things to further my own interests or unrighteous emotions, rather than considering the interests of others, and lacked the attitude of Christ's humility that prefers my neighbor's advantage, and forgotten to treat others as more important than myself, Phil 2:3-5. Such actions and attitudes that display such mixture tainted with the anger of man do not achieve the righteousness of God, James 1:19-20. Therefore, not using my bodily members as instruments of righteousness consistently, I've been a man of unclean lips, Isa 6:5.

Since our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them, transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood, Isa 59:12-13, at time, "Surely I have spoken of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know, therefore I despise my sins, and I repent from them in dust and ashes," Job 42:3, Job 42:6. Yet though You've disciplined me severely, You haven't given me over to death, Ps 118:18. I can say with the Psalmist, "It was good for me to be afflicted that I might learn the way of Your Commands," Ps 119:71. Let me make the most of Your discipline, knowing it's end result has many ends in mind, sanctification being a chief one, Even Jesus being the author, ἀρχηγὸν, ultimate architect, pioneer and engineer of our salvation, perfected through suffering, Heb 2:10, on earth and in flesh, the proving ground of obedience, becoming the ultimate fountain of salvation, Heb 5:8-9. Surely, there is One found Worthy, Rev 5:9.

Though beyond human capacity to bear at times tribulation transfers every drop of hope to You alone who raise the dead, 2 Cor 1:8-9, produces patience leading to maturity that we may also be complete, James 1:2-3, and though not pleasant at present, afterward yields not only perseverance, proven character but an abiding hope that does not disappoint, even granting assurance through The Holy Spirit of Adoption, Rom 5:3-5. May trials yield a harvest of peaceful fruit and righteousness, Heb 12:11, even an everlasting quietness and confidence, Isa 32:17, an everlasting crown of life, James 1:12, and ability to reign with You, as You overcame and reign in truth, humility and justice, Ps 45:4, Rev 3:19-21, Rev 21:7. We ask for grace to renew our minds, Rom 12:2, to rejoice in all these things knowing we are presently blessed and understanding their end is eternal reward, Matt 5:10-12, and that Your Intention is to work it all together for good, Rom 8:28, because You are indeed Gracious and Compassionate, Ex 34:4-5, as we see You were with Job, James 1:12. Let us pray for others and others pray for us knowing You have brought us through trials before, You will do so again, and that prayers are powerful and effective, 2 Cor 1:10-11, especially when we confess our struggles and sins to one another and pray for each other, Your promise is the prayers are powerful and effective, James 5:15-16, even as Elijah's, James 5:17-18... Continued below while abiding in Jesus Christ and His Words, John 15:1-8, and His Life Giving Words of The Holy Spirit, John 6:63, His Name being the only Name given under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, He being the One God and Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in The Power of Attorney given by us His Position and Command, Mt 18:18, we ask in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14.

We hear your heartfelt cry for sanctification, your deep longing to walk in holiness, and your honest confession of struggle with the tongue, the flesh, and the pride that so easily entangles. Your words resonate with the tension every believer faces, the war between the spirit and the flesh, the desire to please God and the reality of our human frailty. We stand with you in this battle, not as those who have arrived, but as fellow soldiers in the fight for righteousness, clinging to the grace of God that is greater than all our sin.

You have rightly acknowledged that there is no "button" to push for instant perfection, for even the apostle Paul cried out, "For the good that I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, this I practice" (Romans 7:19). Yet we do not despair, for Christ’s power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your boasting in weakness is not defeat, it is the very place where His strength takes over. The tongue, though a small member, is a fire, a world of iniquity (James 3:5-6). But the same tongue that has spoken in anger, pride, or unrighteousness can also be tamed by the Holy Spirit to speak life, encouragement, and truth. We must guard it as a sacred instrument, for "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34). When words have been spoken in haste or sin, the remedy is not self-condemnation but repentance, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

You have rightly quoted the call to humility in Philippians 2:3-5, where we are commanded to regard others as more important than ourselves. This is the mind of Christ, who did not cling to His divine rights but emptied Himself for our sake. When we fail in this, we must not excuse the sin but rather confess it, for "the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God" (James 1:20). Yet even in discipline, we find hope, for "no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful; yet afterward, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it" (Hebrews 12:11). Your affliction has not been in vain, it has driven you deeper into dependence on Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We must also address the foundation of your plea, for you have rightly invoked the name of Jesus, the only Name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is only through His blood that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him alone for salvation, we urge you to do so now, for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). But if you have already trusted in Christ, then your confession and repentance are evidence of the Spirit’s work in you, for "no one can say, 'Jesus is Lord,' except by the Holy Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:3).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We thank You for Your mercy that endures forever, for Your grace that is sufficient for every weakness, and for Your discipline that trains us in righteousness. Lord, we confess that our tongues have been unruly, our hearts prone to pride, and our actions often tainted by selfish ambition. Forgive us, Father, for the times we have spoken in anger, acted in conceit, or neglected the interests of others. Cleanse us, as You promised, from all unrighteousness.

We ask You to set a guard over our mouths, Lord, and to keep watch over the door of our lips (Psalm 141:3). May our words be seasoned with grace, edifying those who hear them (Colossians 4:6). Teach us to bridle our tongues, to speak truth in love, and to use our words to build up rather than tear down. Where we have sinned against others, give us the humility to seek their forgiveness, and where we have been sinned against, grant us the grace to forgive as You have forgiven us.

Father, we thank You for the trials that produce perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). Though they are painful, we trust that You are working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen us to endure, knowing that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness (James 1:3). May we not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We pray for a renewed mind, that we may discern Your will, what is good, acceptable, and perfect (Romans 12:2). Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in step with Him, putting to death the deeds of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). May our lives reflect the holiness of Christ, who lived among us without sin, that we too may be holy as You are holy (1 Peter 1:16).

Lord, we thank You that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). We surrender our weaknesses to You, knowing that Your power is made perfect in them. Help us to boast in nothing except the cross of Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to us, and we to the world (Galatians 6:14). May our lives be living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Brother, your hunger for holiness is a sign of God’s work in you. Do not despise the discipline of the Lord, for it is proof of His love (Hebrews 12:6). The same God who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Keep confessing, keep repenting, keep pressing forward. The race is not to the swift but to those who endure to the end (Matthew 24:13). Walk in the light as He is in the light, and the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse you from all sin (1 John 1:7). You are not alone in this battle, we stand with you, and more importantly, Christ stands with you, interceding on your behalf (Romans 8:34). Press on, and do not lose heart.

We hear the depth of your longing to be done with sin, and we give thanks for your honest confession. The very ache you feel, the desire to push a button and be fully free, is itself evidence that the Spirit is at work in you, drawing you toward holiness. That is not despair; it is the discipline of a loving Father, and His grace is meeting you right now in the struggle.

It is easy to become discouraged when we find ourselves again tangled in words spoken in anger or in moments of self-protection. But genuine repentance is rarely a single, dramatic event; it is often a quiet, repeated turning. The fact that you keep turning back to the truth, that you bring your missteps into the light rather than hiding them, is a quiet victory. As you continue to confess, sin’s grip loosens, not because you perfect yourself, but because you keep placing yourself in the hands of the Healer.

One practical step you might take is to invite a trusted friend or pastor not only to pray with you but to gently help you notice patterns. When anger rises, it often carries a message about a deeper hurt or fear. Paying attention to those moments, not as condemnation but as material for prayer, can gradually reshape your reflexes. Growth is seldom a straight line upward, but the direction you are walking is good.

Let us pray with you now.

Jesus, we thank You that You do not despise a broken and contrite heart. Thank You that this dear one’s confession is precious to You. Meet them in the days ahead with the steady comfort of Your Spirit. Continue the work of renewal in their mind and mouth, and build in them a reflex of love that responds more quickly than any flash of anger. We ask not for a button to press, but for the daily bread of Your grace that is sufficient in every weakness. In Your name, Amen.

You have been looking so hard at the broken pieces of yourself that I wonder whether you can see the light shining through them yet. When a man stands before God with an honest confession on his lips and no excuse in his hands, he is never nearer to heaven than then. That shame which now bows you low, that sorrow which makes your speech falter, these are not marks of a soul forgotten. They are the very tokens that the Good Shepherd is near, for His sheep know their own strayings and long for His fold.

You have spoken of a button you would press to be done with sin for ever. I understand the ache behind that wish, and it tells me better than any strong profession could do that you are alive to God. The dead feel no pain at the presence of their disease. It is the living who cry out for the physician. So take heart: He who has begun this work in you will not set it aside until the day of Jesus Christ. He knows what you are, nothing but weakness, yet He has chosen to lodge His strength in just such vessels. Paul’s thorn was not removed so that Christ’s grace might be better seen. Your own sharp trial, the stumbling of your tongue, the failings that revisit you when you thought you had made some little headway, these are the very black-edged envelope that brings you a love-letter from your Redeemer, telling you that His strength is made perfect in what you cannot do.

Do not trouble yourself so much over whether your repentance is deep enough or your sorrow bitter enough to earn you a hearing. That is to mistake the matter entirely. The Father does not sit on the porch waiting for you to produce perfect tears before He will open the door. The command to repent is His warrant for you to come, however poorly you feel you have obeyed it. He has said, ā€œRepent and believe,ā€ for this reason among others: that no broken-hearted sinner might stand outside and whisper, ā€œBut may I? Have I a right?ā€ The very command gives you the right. When the king commanded the blind and the lame to come to his feast, he was not requiring them to find their own cure on the way. He was drawing them precisely as they were.

And this very brokenness that you despise, this bruised heart and contrite spirit, is what He has named His sacrifice. The tears you wish were more plentiful are more precious in His sight than you know. There is a sweetness mingled with them, a lowly joy that cannot be found anywhere else. I do not think many of us laugh our way closest to God; it is when we lean very low upon His bosom and feel it strangely sweet to have no strength of our own that we discover a peace that passes understanding. So do not fling away from Sister Repentance as though she were an unwelcome guest. She walks hand in hand with faith, and she will not lead you wrong.

I hear in your words the very echo of David’s cry when he had sinned with his lips and come to loathe his own speech. Yet God did not thrust him away; He washed him and set his mouth to singing again. The Lord who put a new song in David’s mouth can do the same for you. He does not expect you to mend your own tongue by main force. He asks you to bring the unruly member to Him, confess its wild wandering, and trust His Spirit to govern it. The same Jesus who commanded the winds and the waves can say to your soul, ā€œPeace, be still,ā€ and to your tongue, ā€œSpeak what is good for edifying.ā€ He does not promise you will never fail again, but He does promise that His grace is sufficient for the next hour and the next, and that the very stumbling will teach you to cling more tightly to Him.

You mentioned the discipline you have felt, and you saw rightly that it is the training of a son, not the lash of a judge. A Father does not throw his child overboard when the sea is rough; he holds the boy tighter. The trials that have brought you low have done more for you than any smooth sailing could. They have unmoored you from false boats and sent you drifting straight to your Lord. Now He means to teach you to rejoice in what you once counted only loss. The harvest of righteousness is planted in soil that has been deeply torn. So do not despise the plowing, for after it the rain falls soft, and the quiet fruit springs up.

Above all, fix your eyes not on the copybook of your own performances but on the wounded hands of your Substitute. He has accomplished what your strongest resolutions could never achieve. He has answered for every misspoken word, every proud thought, every failure of love. When you look within, you will always find something to grieve over. When you look to Him, you will find an endless well of mercy and a righteousness that is yours by faith. Lying low at the foot of the cross, you will discover that the very spot of your shame becomes the seat of your rest.

Let me commend you now to the One who knows all your frame and remembers that you are dust. Father, we bring before You this weary, honest heart that beats yet faintly toward You. Lord, You have seen the tears that have come in the night, and You have gathered them into Your bottle. Seal home upon this soul the assurance that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin. Give Your child the quietness that flows from knowing that all his transgressions were laid upon the Lamb and that now there is no condemnation. Teach him to boast only in his weaknesses, for there the power of Christ will ever rest upon him. And when the tongue would speak again, let it be first to praise the One who has redeemed it. In Jesus’ strong name we ask this. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have been blessed to stand with you in prayer as you have poured out your heart before the Lord, confessing struggles with the tongue and seeking His sanctifying grace. Your transparency and reliance on Scripture have been a powerful testimony to us all, reminding us of the ongoing work of repentance and the hope we have in Christ’s finished work.

We rejoice in the truth that even in weakness, His strength is made perfect, and that the discipline you’ve endured is producing a harvest of righteousness. If the Lord has granted you victory in this area—if your words have been seasoned with grace, if your heart has found greater peace, or if you’ve seen His faithfulness in restoring relationships—we would love to hear your praise report so we may rejoice with you. If, however, the battle still rages and you feel the weight of this struggle, we want you to know we are still here, lifting you up before the throne of grace. You are not alone in this fight, for we all stumble in many ways, and the tongue is a fire that none of us can tame without the Holy Spirit’s help.

Let us continue to pray together, trusting that the same God who began this good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. May He grant you wisdom to speak only what is helpful for building others up, patience to listen before you speak, and the humility to yield your words to His Spirit. We ask for fresh grace to walk in the way of Christ, who spoke truth in love and never sinned with His lips. May the fruit of righteousness be your portion, and may your testimony of His faithfulness encourage others who wrestle with the same weakness.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and the perfecter of our faith. Amen.
