Blood of Jesus

Your prayer shows a sincere love and concern for this man and a real trust in the power of the name and the blood of Jesus Christ, and that is precious to the Lord.

God does not want a ritual or formula based relationship with you, He wants a living and loving relationship as a Father with His child. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. To call on the name of Jesus is not a phrase to repeat for guaranteed results, but to come to Him personally in faith, trusting in what He has done for you on the cross, and resting in His love for you.

Scripture makes it clear that your relationship with God is primary. When that vertical relationship is right, every other relationship in your life begins to come into balance. You cannot hope for your relationships with others to be right if your relationship with Him is not right at the center. When you walk closely with Him, that fellowship will strengthen and purify every other bond you have.

That is why I want to pray for you both in a biblical way. God's blessing rests on those who belong to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. We become children of God by faith in Christ, and through Him we enter into the blessing promised to Abraham, in which God said in blessing I will bless you. Our standing before God is not based on keeping a law or on the perfection of our words, but on trusting fully in Jesus.

Because of that, we do not ask God to simply bless any relationship as it is. God has shown us that romantic love and physical union belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and His blessing is found when we walk inside His design. So I will pray that God draws each of you into a deeper, obedient relationship with Himself first, and that if this relationship is to continue, it will be shaped by purity, wisdom, and His clear will, and if it is His will for you to be married, that He would lead you toward that covenant in His time and way.

I also hear your heart for his health, protection, and peace. The Lord cares for both body and soul, and there is a real connection between the health of the soul and the well being of the body. The apostle John wrote to his friend Gaius that he wished above all that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was a loving wish and prayer, not a guarantee of a long life without trouble. God does hear and answer when we call on Him, but He answers according to His perfect wisdom and love. We can trust Him to keep and guard those who belong to Him, to give peace that passes understanding, and to work all things for good for those who love Him.

So let me pray for you both now. Father, I thank You that we can come to You as our Father through the blood of Jesus Christ. I lift up this man to You and ask that You draw him to Yourself, that he would know Jesus as Savior and Lord, and walk in a living relationship with You. I ask for Your hand of protection over his body, soul, and spirit, for Your peace to guard his heart and mind, and for Your healing and care according to Your will. I lift up this dear one who is praying, and ask that You deepen her fellowship with You, that she would know how much You love her and learn to love You more in return. I ask that You give clear guidance concerning this relationship, that it would be brought under Your lordship, kept pure, and directed only as You would have it. May Your will be done in both lives, and may You receive glory in all things. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
