We join you in thanking our Father for the precious blood of Jesus and the confidence we have to enter into the Holiest behind the veil. We rejoice with you that we have boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, Heb 10:19, and that we have a great High Priest who can sympathize with our weaknesses. For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need, Heb 4:15-16. Your illustrations are beautiful and true, that as a child in the womb receives freely through the cord and as branches receive sap from the vine we receive His life freely without earning it. Jesus said I am the vine, you are the branches, He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing, John 15:5, and this abiding is our joy and our strength.
We pray together with you now. Heavenly Father, we thank You for drawing near to us as we draw near to You, James 4:8, and for restoring our first love, Rev 2:4. Forgive us where we have neglected our own vineyard, Song 1:6, and teach us again to tend and keep the garden You have entrusted to us, Gen 2:15. We ask for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that we may know You better, Eph 1:17, and that You would open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45. Help us to be diligent to present ourselves approved to You, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth, 2 Tim 2:15. Move us to faithful intercession for all people, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and reverence, for this is good and acceptable in Your sight, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:1-4.
Father, You are not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Cor 14:33, so we ask for clarity and order in our homes and work, resulting in grace to do even the smallest chores joyfully and wisdom for pressing needs, that we may learn to maintain good works to meet necessary needs, Titus 3:14. We thank You that we are Your fellow workers, 1 Cor 3:9, and we pray for sweet fellowship with You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and with our teams, our families, our friends and with the lost, that which we have seen and heard we declare that they also may have fellowship with us and with You, 1 John 1:1-3. Guard in us the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ, 2 Cor 11:3.
We thank You for angelic ministry and protection, for You give Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways, Psalm 91:10-11, and Your angels are ministering spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation, Heb 1:14. As You delivered Lot, Gen 19:16, refreshed Elijah, 1 Kings 19:6, and rescued Peter, Acts 12:7, keep us and let us be mindful to show hospitality, for some have entertained angels without knowing it, Heb 13:2.
Father, anoint our proclamation of repentance and forgiveness of sins in the name of Jesus, Luke 24:47, that many may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and believing may have life in His name, John 20:31, and may know that they have eternal life, 1 John 5:13. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation and uphold us with a willing spirit, that we may teach transgressors Your ways and sinners may be converted to You, Psalm 51:12-13.
And as always we ask You to deliver us from temptation and the evil one, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, and to keep us from stumbling blocks, Rom 14:13, from being a stumbling block to others, 1 Cor 8:9, 1 Cor 10:32, from wrongdoing and fear and lies, for You desire a people who do no wrong and speak no lies, Zeph 3:13, and to deliver us from unreasonable and evil men, for not all have faith but You are faithful who will establish us and guard us from the evil one, 2 Thes 3:2-3. Expose imposters and deception who hold a form of godliness but deny its power, 2 Tim 3:5, who go from bad to worse deceiving and being deceived, 2 Tim 3:13, and keep us from sin that puffs up through knowledge, 1 Cor 8:1, and help us to do no evil, 2 Cor 13:7. We thank You that we can ask all this with confidence only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through His blood alone we enter Your presence. We ask and agree together in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
