We join you in this beautiful and deep thanksgiving for the blood of Jesus and the confidence we have to enter the holiest place, into the very fellowship of the Father and the Son.

We agree with you that this is the heart of the gospel, that we do not enter by our own works or worthiness but by His blood alone. As it is written, Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, Heb 10:19. And how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God, Heb 9:14. We give thanks with you for His suffering, His public death on the cross, His burial, His resurrection and ascension, by which He has poured out His inheritance upon us through the promised Holy Spirit, who was foretold by the prophets and given at Pentecost to dwell in us.

We love your illustrations of how freely we receive from Him, as a baby in the womb receives life through the cord without labor, and as branches receive sap from the vine. This is true abiding. Jesus said, I am the vine. You are the branches, John 15:5, and apart from Him we can do nothing, but in Him we bear much fruit quite naturally as His life flows through us. We also draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need, Heb 4:16. What a sympathetic High Priest we have, who understands our weakness and yet is without sin.

We pray together with you for all that you have lifted up.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our one mediator between God and men, 1 Tim 2:5, and our priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek, Ps 110:4, we thank You for drawing us near as we draw near to You, James 4:8. Restore to us the joy of our first love, Rev 2:4, and give us grace to tend and keep the gardens You have entrusted to us, Gen 2:15, and to care for our own vineyards with faithfulness, Song 1:6. Pour out upon us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that we may know You better, Eph 1:17, and open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45. Help us to be diligent to present ourselves approved to God, workers who do not need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth, 2 Tim 2:15, and to offer prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all people, 1 Tim 2:1.

We ask for Your clarity and order, for You are not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Cor 14:33, that our daily work and chores may be done in grace and that we may have wisdom for every pressing need, Tit 3:14. Keep us in the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, 2 Cor 11:3, and in sweet fellowship with You and with one another, and with our families and friends, that our joy may be complete, 1 John 1:3. We thank You for Your promise to give Your angels charge over us, to keep us in all our ways, Ps 91:11, for they are all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation, Heb 1:14.

We agree with you for bold proclamation of repentance and remission of sins in His name, Luke 24:47, that many may believe and have life in His name, John 20:31, and know that they have eternal life, 1 John 5:13. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, Ps 51:12, that sinners may be converted through our witness.

And we ask You to keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13, and keep us from every stumbling block, Rom 14:13, and from all wrongdoing and deceit, Zeph 3:13. Guard us from evil men, 2 Thess 3:2, from impostors and deception who advance from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived, 2 Tim 3:13, and keep us from sin, 1 Cor 8:9, and from the evil one himself, John 17:15. Let no fear or lie take root in us, but let Your truth and love keep us blameless.

We thank You that we can pray with confidence because we come not in our own name but in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to You. We ask all these things according to Your will, trusting that You hear us and will answer for Your glory. Amen.

We loved reading your prayer of thanks. The way you linger on the blood of Jesus opening the way into the very heart of fellowship between the Father and the Son moved us. And those pictures you shared of a baby receiving life through its mother and branches receiving sap from the vine capture so well what it is to simply receive mercy and grace without striving.

We join you in thanking God for that nearness, for the cleansing of conscience and the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out to dwell with us. It is a beautiful thing to want to stay close, to care for the garden God has given you, to tend your vineyard and walk in simplicity and purity with Christ.

We also hear your heart for clarity and order in daily work, for fellowship with your teams, family and friends, and for protection from what would distract or harm. We will carry those desires with you before the Lord.

It may encourage you to keep voicing this kind of thanksgiving aloud with others as you already do, in your small fellowship and at home, so the joy of that nearness stays fresh in ordinary days.

Father, we thank You with our friend for Your nearness and for the way You have made to come close through Jesus. Keep our friend abiding in Your love, steady in Your wisdom, and guarded in peace as they walk with You and serve those around them. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in blessing the Lord for that precious confidence which you have expressed, that we may have boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, behind the veil, into the very center of fellowship between the Father and the Son. What a subject for holy wonder is this goodness laid up and now displayed, that sinners such as we should be invited to come boldly unto the throne of grace.

We thank God with you that the sprinkling of blood cleanses the conscience from dead works to serve the living God, according to Hebrews 9:13 and 14. It was not our tears nor our works that could purge us, for if there was in us any light or life or love, it was the gift of the Spirit of God. But Christ suffered and was pierced, and was buried, and rose from the dead and ascended, that He might pour out His inheritance through the promised Holy Spirit, as the prophets declared and as was fulfilled at Pentecost. By that one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified, and by His blood we have a new and living way.

You have rightly remembered that we have a sympathetic High Priest forever, who can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, Hebrews 4:15 and 16. Therefore we are invited to come boldly, not as slaves trembling before a naked sword of justice, but as children to a loving Father, seeing the rainbow round about the throne, the token of covenant love and grace. The call to come boldly is not merely the apostle's voice, but the voice of the Holy Spirit Himself, who moves us to pray. And as a branch receives sap from the vine quite naturally, so we freely receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need, without money and without price, and bring forth fruit unto God.

We also hear your prayer for nearness to God, for first love renewed, for grace to keep our own vineyard and to tend the garden the Lord has given us to keep. The Lord says, I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals. He remembers those first lisping prayers, those first tears of repentance, that first faith which looked to Christ alone, and He delights in them as a mother delights in a child's first words. Yet that first love does not last half so long as we could wish unless we keep communion with Christ. When we neglect the closet, the Word, and the cross, we lose our burning love and our first works. Let us then go back continually to first principles, to the great foundation stone, the cross of Christ, and there our love will be rekindled. Draw nigh to God, as James 4:8 exhorts, and He will draw nigh to you. Seek again that simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ of which Paul speaks in 2 Corinthians 11:3, and ask the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to cause you to know Him better and to open the Scriptures to your understanding, as He opened them to the disciples.

We pray with you for clarity and order, for the God we serve is not the author of confusion, for happy grace in daily chores, for wisdom for pressing needs, for fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Spirit, and for faithful labor together with God and with His people. We ask that you may be kept in study of the Word, in intercession for all men, and in the proclamation of repentance and forgiveness of sins in His name, that sinners may be converted and the joy of forgiveness restored in your own soul, as David prayed, Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation.

And we join you in asking the Lord to protect you from temptation and from evil, from stumbling blocks, from wrongdoing and fear and lies, from evil men and from imposture and deception, and from the evil one himself, as our Lord taught us to pray and as Paul prayed for deliverance in 2 Thessalonians 3. May the Lord keep you from sin and keep your feet from falling, and may His angels have charge over you in all your ways.

May the love which is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit abound yet more, that abiding love which never fails, for He who loved you still loves you, He cannot love you more and will not love you less. Take your fill of Christ, rejoice in Him always, and show your love by joying in Him as He joys in you.

We commend you to Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and man, our Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek, through whose blood alone we draw near. May the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit keep you in perfect peace as you abide in the vine.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your thanksgiving is good and pleasing to God, for you have remembered the very heart of our hope. You do not come to God by your own works or worthiness, but by the blood of Jesus, and this is the confidence spoken of in Scripture.

The law had the blood of goats and calves, which could never cleanse the conscience or open heaven. But Christ, our great High Priest who sympathizes with our weakness, did not enter with the blood of another. By His own blood, shed on the cross, poured out when He was pierced, and offered after His resurrection and ascension, He entered once for all into the Holy Place and obtained eternal redemption. For that reason you may now draw near with boldness to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace in time of need. This nearness is a gift of grace, and grace brings peace. It is not from our labors, but from the love of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hold fast to this confidence and the rejoicing of your hope firm to the end. For we are His house if we do not fall away in trial or grow ashamed, but continue with a clear conscience, cleansed from works that lead to death so that we may serve the living God. As a branch draws life from the vine without striving, so remain in Him, and He will bear fruit in you.

I join you in praying for what you have asked. May the Holy Spirit give you wisdom and revelation to know Christ better, to understand the Scriptures and to walk in simplicity and purity of devotion to Him. May He grant you first love renewed, clarity and order in your daily work, grace for your household and faithfulness in tending what God has entrusted to you. May He keep your fellowship with Him and with His people in love and faith, for without faith love amounts to nothing, and where true peace is, love will also be.

I also pray with you for protection from every stumbling block, from temptation and evil, from fear and lies, from deception and from the evil one, that you may be kept from sin and walk without wrongdoing. May angels guard you as they have guarded the faithful of old, and may you continue in repentance and forgiveness, in faith and assurance, with the joy of salvation restored.

May the grace and peace of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ remain upon you and keep you unmoved until the end, through the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Your thanksgiving for the confidence to enter the holiest place by the blood of Jesus is beautiful and fully biblical. Hebrews 10:19 tells us we have boldness to enter behind the veil because of that blood, and Hebrews 9:13-14 reminds us that it is the sprinkling of that blood which cleanses the conscience from dead works so we can serve the living God. That confidence does not come from anything we have done or earned. It is like a child in the womb receiving life from its mother, or a branch receiving sap from the vine as Jesus describes in John 15. We simply receive, and life flows, and fruit comes naturally.

This is the heart of how God shows His love. Our fallen nature cannot tell us that God loves us, and our own feelings cannot prove it. God does not seek to prove His love in many places. He proves it in one sufficient place, the cross. Scripture always points there when it wants to assure you of His love. Not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins. He loved us first, before we ever turned to Him, with all our imperfections and failures. When you know that love, when you know His grace and goodness in Christ, your heart responds. We love Him because He first loved us. It is hard to respond to something you are not aware of, so God initiates, and we answer that love as we come to know Him better.

That love also becomes the evidence of His Spirit at work in you. The test is not only what we confess about Jesus Christ, but whether His love is being formed in us and shown through us. If God so loved us as to give His Son to bring us into fellowship with Himself, then we are called to walk in that same love toward one another. By this we know we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers and sisters. Love that only says words but does not act when a need is present is incomplete. Real love gives, serves, and lays down self as Christ did.

You also prayed about nearness to God, renewal of first love, tending your vineyard and keeping your garden, and wisdom and revelation to know Him and understand His Word. James 4:8 promises that as we draw near to God, He draws near to us, and Revelation 2 speaks of returning to that first love when it has grown cold. That first love is that deep, intimate, responsive affection that remembers from where we have fallen and comes back to do the first works again. It grows as the Spirit gives you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him and opens your understanding of Scripture, so you can study to show yourself approved and walk in simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. With that comes the order and clarity that 1 Corinthians 14:33 speaks of, not confusion, and grace for daily duties and wisdom for pressing needs.

I join you in thanking God that through Jesus, our great High Priest who sympathizes with our weakness, we may come freely to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need according to Hebrews 4:15-16. I pray He keeps you in that abiding fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Spirit, in fellowship with your family and with His people, and guards you from temptation, stumbling blocks, fear, lies, and the schemes of the evil one. May He keep your mind stayed on Christ, your conscience cleansed and at peace, and your heart established in the assurance that His love for you was settled at the cross and will never fail. In the name of Jesus, our one mediator and our priest forever after the order of Melchizedek, may you continue to walk in love as Christ has loved us and gave Himself for us.
