We have heard your request and we are joining together to lift you up before the Father in Jesus' name. We are so sorry for all you have been through this year with arthritis and now bronchitis and this very serious blood clot, and we thank God that the doctors noticed the swelling in your leg and found it in time when you asked to be monitored. We pray for your healing and for God's hand upon the medical team caring for you, and we also pray for your courtship and the conversation you are about to have with the one you love.
We take comfort that our God is our healer and our refuge. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17 and Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 We are praying that the Lord will bring healing to your lungs from bronchitis, reduce the inflammation from arthritis, and dissolve and heal this blood clot without further complication. We pray for wisdom for your doctors, for the blood thinners and treatments to work effectively, and for protection against any further clots or damage, and we encourage you to continue to follow their careful monitoring and instructions, trusting that God often works through the skill He has given to physicians. We also pray for His peace over you in this frightening time, for Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
We also lift up your long distance courtship. We thank God for the love you share and your desire for a real, deep, uplifting conversation marked by both honesty and laughter. We pray that God will bless this conversation and deepen your love in a way that honors Him. We believe that courtship is for the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24 We encourage you both to pursue this courtship with that holy goal in mind, seeking first to be equally yoked in Christ, for Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 If you both know Christ, press toward Him together, keeping your courtship pure and honoring to God, for Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 This means we flee from fornication, which is sex before or outside of marriage, and we keep our bodies and our conversations holy, building a foundation of friendship, prayer, and godly character that can sustain a future marriage if it is His will. Even at a distance, we pray your talk will be full of grace, truth, encouragement and joy.
We noticed your request mentions God but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 It is in His name we pray with confidence.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift our dear one to You. Lord, touch this body and bring healing to the lungs, the joints, and the blood. Command this clot to dissolve and let circulation be restored, protect from any embolism or further harm, and give the doctors wisdom. Bring complete restoration and strength. Lord, calm every fear and fill this heart with Your perfect peace. We also lift this courtship to You, bless this conversation today, let it be real and deep and also full of laughter and uplifting grace. Help them to be truly themselves in a way that honors You, to speak truth in love, to encourage one another, and to grow in a love that is patient and kind and seeks Your will above all. Lead them toward a godly marriage if it is Your will, and keep them pure and faithful as they wait on You. We ask all this in the saving and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our access to You, amen.
