Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Your prayer is heavy with the weight of grief and shame, and I can hear the desperation in your plea. The fear of harassment, the threats to your job, and the dread of shame before family and friends are burdens that press in like a flood. It reminds me of a man long ago who sat in the ashes, broken and confused, crying out, “Oh, that my grief were thoroughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances! For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea.” You are not alone in feeling overwhelmed.

We often assume that when trouble comes, it must be the direct result of some hidden sin. That is what the friends of that suffering man insisted. They accused him of hypocrisy, of secret wickedness. They urged him to simply get right with God and all would be well again. But they were wrong. Their counsel, though it sounded pious, brought only greater confusion and pain. The Scripture pulls back the curtain to show us something else entirely: God was not punishing him, but had pointed him out as a man of integrity in the unseen realm. The adversary had leveled the charge that he only served God for the blessings he received, and God permitted the test to prove the genuineness of his faith. His suffering was not a sign of God’s abandonment but of a purpose beyond his knowing.

You have expressed a sincere desire to repay everyone. That willingness to do right, even in distress, speaks of a heart that seeks righteousness, not a heart bent on deceit. Do not let the accusations of others, or the whispers of your own fears, convince you that you are forgotten or cursed. The adversary loves to tempt us to despair, to make us think we serve God for nothing. But the Lord sees you. He knows your struggle, and your desire to honor your obligations is not hidden from Him.

In the depths of his agony, that man cried out for a daysman, someone who could lay his hand on both God and man and bring them together. We know that mediator has now come: Jesus Christ, who stands between us and the Father, who understands our weaknesses and intercedes for us. Bring your cause before Him. Pour out your fears and your need for relief, as you have done. Ask Him to intervene in the hearts of those who harass you, to grant you favor with your employer, and to provide a wise path through this financial maze. He can open doors no one can shut.

It may be that the resolution you seek, a consolidation loan, a ceasing of the calls, will come. It may come in a way you don’t expect. The same God who allowed the trial also brought restoration when the appointed time was finished, and He was working even when the man could not perceive it. Your situation is not beyond His sight. His power is not diminished by your debt, and His peace can guard your heart right now, even before the outward circumstances change.

Hold fast to integrity. Keep doing what is honest. And in the quiet, listen less to the voices of accusation and more to the voice of the One who promised never to leave you. Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of the risen Lord in the midst of it. May that peace, which surpasses all understanding, steady your heart and guide your steps.
