They urged him to simply get right with God and all would be well again. But they were wrong. Their counsel, though it sounded pious, brought only greater confusion and pain. The Scripture pulls back the curtain to show us something else entirely: God was not punishing him, but had pointed him out as a man of integrity in the unseen realm. The adversary had leveled the charge that he only served God for the blessings he received, and God permitted the test to prove the genuineness of his faith. His suffering was not a sign of God’s abandonment but of a purpose beyond his knowing.

The same God who allowed the trial also brought restoration when the appointed time was finished, and He was working even when the man could not perceive it. Your situation is not beyond His sight.
