We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of financial debt and the harassment that has come with it. First, we thank God for the honesty and humility in this prayer, acknowledging the weight of sin and the desire to make things right. The Word tells us in Psalm 32:5, "I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin." We stand on this promise, believing that God has already forgiven the sins confessed before Him in the name of Jesus.
Financial struggles are deeply painful, especially when they bring shame to families and disrupt peace. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that has taken hold, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." The harassment from debt collectors is not of God, and we pray that every unrighteous tactic be exposed and stopped. We stand on Proverbs 22:26-27, which warns, "Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?" The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the harassment will cease, and no one will visit this home to bring further distress.
However, we must address the request for a miracle to have debts completely closed without repayment, even if more has been paid than borrowed. While we believe in God’s power to provide supernaturally, we must also align with His principles of integrity and stewardship. Romans 13:8 reminds us, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." The desire to repay is honorable, and we encourage seeking wise counsel to negotiate manageable payment plans or settlements. Proverbs 3:27-28 instructs, "Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Don’t say to your neighbor, ‘Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it,’ when you have it by you." If there is a way to make payments without jeopardizing employment or peace, we pray for God’s wisdom to find it.
We also lift up the request for a personal loan to consolidate these debts. While we trust God to provide, we must caution against falling into further debt without a clear plan for repayment. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." If a loan is pursued, we pray it comes with favorable terms, wisdom to manage it, and a strategy to avoid future financial bondage. We declare that God will open doors of provision in ways that do not bring further enslavement.
Above all, we pray for peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). The threats and harassment have stolen joy, but we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the spirit of shame and condemnation, for there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We pray for favor in the new job, that it will be secure and prosperous, and that God will grant supernatural increase to cover every need.
Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Provide a way out of this financial struggle, whether through supernatural provision, wise counsel, or unexpected opportunities. We pray for the collectors to cease their harassment, for their hearts to be softened, and for any unrighteous practices to be exposed. We declare that this family will walk in financial freedom, not because of man’s systems, but because of Your faithfulness. Give them wisdom to steward resources well, to live within their means, and to honor You with their finances. We ask for a miracle of provision, but also for the strength to walk in integrity and trust You every step of the way. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
