Beloved of All
Your prayer touches the heart deeply, and I join you in bringing this precious life before the Father in the name of Jesus. I hear both your hope and your pain, especially after the loss of a stillbirth, and the added weight of concerns about diabetes, fibroids, and other unseen complications. It is right to bring every fear and every detail to the Lord who sees you and loves this child.
The Lord understands how demanding these final days of pregnancy can be. The body is under great strain, hormones are changing, and there are so many physical responses that can leave you weary and uncomfortable. Scripture shows us that God does not overlook that. When Mary was great with child, she had to make a long and difficult journey of many miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem simply because a decree had gone out from Rome. There was no appeal, no way to say she was too far along to travel. From a human point of view it looked untimely and even unkind, but from heaven's perspective God was sovereignly at work. Seven hundred years earlier a prophet had foretold that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, and God used even the decree of an emperor who thought he ruled the world to move that young couple to the right place at the right time. What man intends for one purpose, God overrules for His own. That same Lord who guided every step of that journey is able to guide every detail of your care, the hands of your doctors and staff, and every circumstance surrounding this birth.
Be encouraged too by how God regards life in the womb. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, the baby in Elizabeth's womb leaped, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Scripture speaks of John being filled with the Spirit even before he was born. Your baby is already known and cherished by God. Children are described in the Psalms as a heritage from the Lord, a gift and a blessing, and He is present with you both now.
I also want to gently encourage you as you pray for health and protection. The Bible shows that some, like Moses and Caleb, remained strong and healthy to the end of their lives, while others grew feeble with age, and that difference was not a measure of God's love or favor. Health is a gracious gift to thank Him for, and it is right to ask Him for it, but His love for you and for your child does not rise and fall with physical strength. Whether in strength or weakness, we can trust His faithfulness and give thanks, knowing He works for good for those who love Him. Our prayer is not a formula to claim a guaranteed outcome, but a confident entrusting of you and your baby into the hands of a faithful Father.
So I pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up this mother and this child to You. You formed this baby and You know every detail of this pregnancy. I ask for Your protection over both lives. Please guard against complications from diabetes, from fibroids, and from any unknown issues. Grant a safe pregnancy and delivery, and we ask You for a healthy baby with a long life lived for Your glory. Grant wisdom, skill, and attentiveness to every doctor, nurse, and staff member who provides care. Give this mother peace that passes understanding, comfort for past grief, and daily strength to trust in Your faithfulness. Let Your will be done, and let Your presence be felt in every moment. We entrust this family to Your loving care and pray all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.
