Your prayer for a healthy pregnancy and a baby free from complications touches on deep concerns, and I want to speak honestly from Scripture into that. We see in the Bible that bodily health does not always line up with how much God loves someone. Moses stayed remarkably strong right to the end of his life, while Joshua apparently did not fare as well physically in old age. Caleb remained vigorous, but that does not mean Joshua was less favored. The same God who watched over them in their different circumstances watches over you. So we can ask boldly for what we need, while resting our trust in His character even if the path holds unexpected challenges.

Think about Mary near the end of her pregnancy. Hormones shifting, body weary, and yet she had to make that long, grueling journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem riding a donkey or walking some seventy miles. It could not have been comfortable. God could have arranged for the Child to be born right there in Nazareth, but instead He moved a Roman emperor to issue a decree so that the prophecy about Bethlehem would be fulfilled. He was sovereign over every bump in the road, every pang of discomfort. That same God is orchestrating the details of your pregnancy, even the presence of fibroids and diabetes. Not as punishment, but as part of a tapestry He is weaving for your good and His glory.

In the law, God gave Israel health principles, sanitary and dietary commands, and He revealed Himself as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. He cares about our bodies. Yet His healing and sustenance come wrapped in His wisdom, not always in the form we picture. The tree planted by streams of water in the Psalms flourishes and its leaf does not wither, but that flourishing flows from a life rooted in constant meditation on God’s Word, not a guarantee of perfect health. So I encourage you, keep bringing your requests to the Father, keep casting your cares on Him, but also ask Him for the grace to trust Him if this road includes waiting, discomfort, or medical interventions. His mercy is present there too.

He is already holding you and your little one. May you know His peace that surpasses all understanding, and may you sense His nearness in every checkup, every quiet moment, and every kick from the life growing within. Rest in the One who can make all things work together for good for those who love Him.

We prayed specifically for a smooth pregnancy, free from complications related to fibroids and diabetes, and for the safe arrival of a healthy baby—just as you asked.
