Blessing

Your prayer for blessing, protection and guidance is one that God delights to hear, and His Word shows how He loves to answer it.

The blessing you are asking for is at the heart of God's promise. Long ago God promised Abraham, in blessing I will bless you, foreseeing that people from every nation would be justified through faith. That promise still stands, and through faith in Jesus Christ you are brought into it. You do not earn this blessing by keeping the law or by your own goodness. You receive it as a child of promise, because Jesus has opened the door through His blood. By trusting in Him you enter into the covenant of blessing that God made with Abraham.

Scripture describes how rich that blessing is for everyone who is in Christ. In Him you are accepted before God, not on your own merit but in the Beloved. In Him you have redemption and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. In Him you have obtained an inheritance as one adopted into the family of God, and after you believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. These are spiritual blessings given freely, and God gives them not so you will keep them to yourself, but so your life will overflow and be a blessing to others. His goodness in blessing you is meant to draw you ever closer to Him.

The protection you seek is also part of who God is to His people. He is the rock that is higher than you, your place of safety and defense. When you hide in Him, you are sheltered and secure, no matter what surrounds you. He is faithful to keep those who trust in Him.

And the guidance you ask for comes as you walk with Him by faith. As you look to Jesus and follow His Word, He leads you step by step. He does not bless you and then leave you to find your own way. He stays with you to direct your path.

May the Lord bless you indeed and cause His favor to rest upon you. May He cover you and be your refuge and strength, your shelter in every need. May He guide your steps, make His will clear to you, and lead you in the way that honors Him. May you know more and more the forgiveness, acceptance, and hope you have in Jesus, and may His Spirit strengthen you to walk in His promises each day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for asking us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We are glad that you invited us to join you in seeking the Lord for His blessing and protection and for His guidance in all your ways. We have continued to lift you before the Father asking Him to bless you and keep you according to Numbers 6:24 and to watch over you and protect you from all evil as promised in Psalm 121:7 and to direct your paths as you acknowledge Him according to Proverbs 3:6.
