Blessing for Desire for Fasting

Naliogate

Beloved of All
I strongly desire for a more intimate relationship with the Lord through prayer and fasting, may the Lord bless my desire for this remainder of the year and for the start of the next year. I believe in fasting, it has been the most successful method for answered prayers and just for a closer relationship to God. May the Lord bless this desire which I believe is according to his will. To expand type of fast, maybe one day fast from coffee, another day from food, another day from something else. I don't know yet but I need prayer support in Jesus name I humbly ask, amen.

What a beautiful and godly desire you have expressed—a hunger for deeper intimacy with the Lord through prayer and fasting! We rejoice with you, for this longing is indeed from the Holy Spirit, who stirs our hearts to seek the Father with greater devotion. The Scriptures affirm that fasting, when done with a humble and repentant heart, draws us nearer to God and aligns our will with His. As Jesus taught in Matthew 6:16-18, *"When you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you."*

Your desire to vary your fasts—whether from food, coffee, or other distractions—is wise, as it trains the body and spirit to rely wholly on Christ. The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 9:27, *"I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected."* Fasting is a powerful discipline that weakens the flesh and strengthens the spirit, making room for the Lord to move mightily in your life.

We also commend you for acknowledging that this desire is according to God’s will. James 4:8 promises, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* Your heart is postured for breakthrough, revelation, and a deeper walk with the Savior. Let us pray together for the Lord to sustain and expand this hunger in you, not just for the remainder of this year but as a lifelong pursuit of His presence.

**Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious saint before You, thanking You for the holy desire You have placed within them to seek You through prayer and fasting. Lord, we ask that You would fan this flame into an unquenchable passion for Your presence. Strengthen them in their fasts, whether from food, drink, or worldly distractions, and let each act of denial be a sweet sacrifice that pleases You. Fill them with Your Spirit, revealing deeper truths of Your Word and drawing them into greater alignment with Your will. Protect them from spiritual attack, weariness, or discouragement, and let their fasts be a testimony of Your faithfulness. May their intimacy with You grow so deep that their life becomes a living reflection of Christ’s love and power. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our ultimate reward and sustainer. Amen.**

As you embark on this journey, we encourage you to document the ways the Lord speaks to you during these times of fasting. Testimonies of His faithfulness will become anchors for your faith in seasons to come. Also, consider fasting with worship—letting praise and Scripture fill the space where worldly comforts once were. Psalm 63:1-3 declares, *"God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water. So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory. Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you."*

Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in how and when to fast. Some seasons may call for extended fasts, while others may be shorter but more frequent. The key is surrender—letting the Lord direct your steps. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that 2024 will be a year marked by divine encounters, answered prayers, and a deeper walk with Christ. Keep pressing in, dear saint. The best is yet to come!

We're right there with you, sister, in this heartfelt pursuit of a deeper relationship with our Lord through prayer and fasting. We've felt that same strong desire, that longing to be more intimate with Him, to hear His voice clearer and feel His presence stronger. It's a beautiful thing when the Holy Spirit stirs our hearts like this, isn't it?

We love how you're thinking about varying your fasts, switching it up from food to coffee, or other distractions. It's like training our bodies and spirits to rely solely on Christ, isn't it? It's in those moments of denial, of giving up something good to make room for something better, that we often find God meets us in powerful ways.

We're also encouraged by your acknowledgment that this desire is according to God's will. That's the sweet spot, isn't it? When our hearts align with His. We believe that as you seek Him with all your heart, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). We're standing with you in prayer, believing that 2024 will indeed be a year marked by divine encounters and a deeper walk with Christ.

Let's also remember to rest in His love and grace. Fasting isn't about earning God's favor, but about clearing away the clutter so we can better receive what He's already freely given. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's keep pressing in, dear sister. The best is truly yet to come! In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heart’s desire for deeper intimacy with the Lord through prayer and fasting. It has been our joy to stand with you in agreement, asking God to ignite and sustain this hunger within you—not just for these final days of the year, but as a foundation for the new season ahead.

We know fasting is a sacred discipline, one that draws us nearer to the Father’s heart and aligns our spirits with His will. Your faith in this practice as a means of breakthrough and closeness to God is a testament to your devotion, and we’ve been praying that He would not only honor this desire but also reveal creative ways for you to seek Him—whether through fasting from food, coffee, distractions, or anything else He may lay on your heart. May the Holy Spirit guide you in this, step by step, so that each act of surrender becomes a sweet offering before Him.

As we wait to see how the Lord moves, we encourage you to share with us how He is working. If you’ve experienced a deepened sense of His presence, a new rhythm in your fasting, or answered prayers tied to this season of seeking, we’d love to rejoice with you in a praise report. And if the journey feels slower or more challenging than expected, don’t hesitate to post again—we’re here to keep lifting you up, asking the Lord to strengthen your resolve and meet you in powerful ways.

May your hunger for Him be satisfied in ways that exceed your expectations, and may this season mark the beginning of an even richer walk with Christ. We’re cheering you on and continuing to pray for divine appointments in your times of fasting, for supernatural discipline, and for the joy of the Lord to be your strength.

In Jesus’ name.
