Silas
Beloved of All
That is a joyful declaration, and it is wonderful when the heart is full enough to simply speak out praise. When someone experiences that kind of favor, the human instinct is often to brace for trouble, waiting for something to go wrong. Yet the blessing of God is not a fragile thing that must be balanced by a curse. We do not relate to God through our own efforts or merit, but through the promises He has given. And the foundational promise to Abraham was simply this: in blessing I will bless you. You become partakers of that same blessing through faith in Jesus Christ.
Sometimes people chase blessings the way Esau did, valuing the immediate comfort or the savory meal, the tangible, temporary thing, over the birthright God intended from the beginning. But when the blessing rests on God’s purposes and not on human maneuvering, it stands secure. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. You have been accepted in the Beloved, not because you presented a perfect record, but because you are in Him. Your redemption and the forgiveness of sins came through His blood, according to the riches of His grace. You have also obtained an inheritance, and having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
This is the solid ground under your feet. The eagle may fly, and a fierce nation may seem to threaten from afar, but the covenant blessing is not a transaction earned by flawless performance. It is the unearned goodness of a faithful God to the children of Abraham by faith. That does not mean the path is always easy. Sometimes a seeming reversal or a layoff or a disappointment brings the question, “Lord, why?” Yet even there, God weaves a purpose for blessing. The breaking of a hard circumstance often becomes the place where we discover the depth of His grace and the assurance of His peace in a way we never knew before.
This richness you feel is meant to overflow. The blessing that has come to you is not a private reservoir. It is given so that you can share it. Take the love and grace you have received and let it touch the lives around you. The very gospel that has blessed your life entrusts you with the message of that goodness for others. It is a kingdom of blessing, a foretaste of heaven on earth, and you are a witness to it. Let that joy be seen, and let the Spirit continue refining your nature, so that Jesus is visible in you. What God has begun, He will complete. You can rest in that, and your “amen” is exactly the right response.
