Blessed and Highly Favored by the Lord

We hear your declaration of faith and joy in the Lord’s favor, and we join our hearts with yours in gratitude. The Scriptures remind us, "Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh" (Jeremiah 17:7 WEB). It is a beautiful thing to walk in the assurance of God’s love and provision, knowing that His favor rests upon those who seek Him with a whole heart.

Yet, we must also remember that true blessing is not merely a feeling or a fleeting moment of favor, it is a life surrendered to God’s will. Jesus said, "If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love" (John 15:10 WEB). Let us not grow complacent in our blessings but instead use them as fuel to pursue holiness, obedience, and service to the Kingdom.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would deepen your understanding of His favor, not as a license for ease, but as a calling to walk in righteousness. May He guard your heart from pride or entitlement, and instead fill you with humility, wisdom, and a passion for His truth. May your life reflect the light of Christ in every word, thought, and deed, drawing others to His saving grace.

Father, we thank You for Your unmerited favor toward us through Jesus Christ. Help us to walk worthy of the calling You have placed on our lives. May we never take Your blessings for granted but use them to glorify Your name. Strengthen us to live in obedience to Your Word, that we may experience the fullness of Your joy and peace. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

If there is a specific area of your life where you seek God’s guidance or breakthrough, we encourage you to bring it before Him in prayer. The Lord delights in hearing from His children, and He is faithful to answer those who call upon Him in truth. "Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know" (Jeremiah 33:3 WEB). Keep pressing into Him, for His favor is indeed life!

Amen! We love the joy and certainty in your words, that settled, grateful confidence that you are indeed seen, loved, and held by the One whose favor matters most. No need to elaborate on what God has already spoken to your heart. What a gift to simply rest there.

We were reminded of something as we read your note: the Hebrew idea behind blessing carries the picture of bowing the knee, extending great worth and value to someone. When the Lord calls you blessed and highly favored, He isn't just describing a circumstance. He is declaring your worth, placing His hand on you, and speaking a unique future over your life. Soaking in that reality, without feeling you have to prove it or add to it, is one of the healthiest spiritual postures we can take. You seem to be right there, and it's beautiful.

So we simply join you today in that glad "amen," and we pray the sweetness of it lingers in all the ordinary moments this week.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the settled joy You have planted in this dear saint. Thank You that Your blessing rests on them not because of their striving, but because of Your goodness. Let this truth be a steady warmth when life feels otherwise, a deep well they can draw from anytime. Guard their heart in peace, and let their grateful confidence be a quiet witness to everyone around them. We praise You for who You are, and for making us Yours. In Your strong name, amen.

Amen and amen indeed! When the soul breaks forth in such a note of praise, it echoes the very work of heaven. You speak of being blessed and highly favoured, and it is well to trace the stream to its fountain. Every blessing comes to us with the hallmark of Sovereign Grace upon it! The reason for God's mercy lies not in man, but in God's own heart. It is He who daily loadeth us with benefits, and if we are kept from what we might have been, we cannot but say, "Thou hast loaded us with benefits." This is cause for a grateful, praiseful frame of mind, and we must endeavour to express that condition by songs of gratitude.

Yet remember, the personal blessing is not an end in itself. The word to Abraham stands sure: "I will bless you, and you shall be a blessing." You must first receive the blessing from the Lord, but then, in the measure that you have been freely given grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, so seek to be a means of grace to others. Tell them what He has done for you; invite sinners to Christ. Do, by God's grace, maintain a holiness of walk and let your life be a word on wheels to the weary.

Grace be to you, and peace, deep draughts of that unmerited love that comes fresh and fresh. Oh, for a wide mouth to take in every conceivable blessing from Him, and a life poured out to bless Him in return!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

A loud profession like this often seeks safety in words, but what foundation does it lay in the soul? Look to Jacob. He obtained the blessing, yet he did not receive it in the way men count blessings. His days were few and evil, spent in servitude, plots, fears, and deceits, while his brother lived in security and was a terror to him. Where, then, did the blessing find its accomplishment? It was reserved for the things to come. If a man clings to the carnal idea that divine favor means a life free from trouble and full of visible prosperity, he has not yet understood the spiritual blessing. The old covenant promised fruit of the body and safety in going out and coming in, but in Christ, the blessing is spiritual. You are made immortal, free, a son, a fellow-heir, glorified with Christ. Yet the door to this is narrow, for He said, “In the world ye have tribulation.” You cannot grasp the one while your hands are full of the other.

The blessing you truly need begins with numbering yourself among the last. For nothing is so acceptable to God as a humbled and bruised heart. Such a heart cannot be lifted up by vainglory or envy, any more than a bruised hand can be raised high. If a man, by mourning over the things of this life, expels the diseases of his soul, how much more does the one who mourns over sin enjoy the blessing of self-restraint? Before you claim high favor, look to the inside of the cup. An evil generation has always been ungrateful, growing worse upon receiving favors. Beware, then, of that which parades its piety with words but hides its secrets in hypocrisy.

You say you are blessed, but what is the witness? John the Baptist could be trusted because he did not speak from human favor, but from divine revelation, saying, “I knew Him not.” His testimony was sure because he had no earthly reason to show partiality. So too, the proof of continuance is not in a momentary cry of “Amen,” but in remaining in His word. Many believed for a time and walked with Him, but when they could not continue, they went back and walked no more openly with Him. The promise of being His disciple is for those who endure. Examine your confidence, then. Is it born of a fleeting imagination, fluttered by worldly things? Or is it rooted in the toils that virtue requires? Apply yourself to these struggles, put away all superfluous excuses, and persuade God to assist you in the fight. Then you will attract more favor from Him, and at last, in the world to come, you will find the blessing where it truly rests.
