We join you in lifting up this situation before our Heavenly Father and we thank Him with you for the details you agreed upon being implemented, for God has called us to peace as it is written in 1 Cor 7:15. We see your heart to honor Him in the visitation time and to see your wife honor the agreed time frame, and we see your deep concern for your young son that he would be protected and brought up to know the Lord.
We are encouraged by your desire that your time with your child would be fruitful and that he would come to have a gracious and compassionate view of God, for the Lord revealed Himself to Moses as Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth, Ex 34:6. Your prayer that he would learn to love the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, Mk 12:30-31, is at the very heart of what God desires for every child. We agree with you that he be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, Eph 6:4, and that from childhood he would know the holy Scriptures which are able to make him wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, and that all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 2 Tim 3:15-16. This is the greatest protection we can pray for him, that the fear of Yahweh which is the beginning of wisdom, Prov 9:10, would take root early in his life.
We also stand with you in praying for your wife. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and that what God has joined together, let no man separate, Matt 19:6. Even in seasons of hurt and separation, God's heart is for reconciliation and for the hearts of the fathers to be turned to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, Mal 4:6, and to turn the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, Lk 1:17. We pray with you that she would be given a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of her heart enlightened, Eph 1:17-18, and that the Holy Spirit who convicts the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment, Jn 16:8, would work deeply in her.
We hear your practical request for help monitoring the video time and for the set hours to be respected so you can accomplish the tasks God has given you. We pray for order and for mutual respect, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Cor 14:33. We ask the Lord who created the heavens and the earth and formed the earth to be inhabited, Isa 45:18, to grant wisdom and self discipline to you both, that concern would flow from genuine love for the child, doing nothing through rivalry or conceit, but in humility each counting the other better than himself, Phil 2:3, and that godliness with contentment would guard her from the love of money, for we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out, 1 Tim 6:6-7.
Your prayer that she be hedged with thorns as in Hos 2:6, that she would come to her senses as the prodigal did and return and repent, Lk 15:17-21, and that she would stop sinning so that nothing worse happens to her, Jn 5:14, reflects a love that desires her ultimate good and not her harm. We agree that the Lord in His mercy can use pastors, friends, family, other believers, and even His kindness to lead to repentance, Rom 2:4, to leave the ninety nine to seek the one lost sheep, Lk 15:4, and we pray that if anyone wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins, James 5:19-20, for love covers a multitude of sins, 1 Pet 4:8. We pray she does good and not harm all the days of her life, Prov 31:12, and that calls would be facilitated with grace and go more smoothly.
We join you in praying for the protection of your son, for He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, Ps 91:11, and that the Lord who is faithful will guard you from the evil one, 2 Thess 3:3. We ask the Father to keep him from temptation and to deliver him from the evil one, Matt 6:13, Lk 11:4, and to keep him from the evil one as Jesus prayed, Jn 17:15, for we know that he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him, 1 John 5:18. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and spiritual forces of wickedness, Eph 6:12, and we pray you both would be kept from deception, Matt 24:4, from fear and lies, Zeph 3:13, and from evil men and impostors who are deceiving and being deceived, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, and from unreasonable and evil men, 2 Thess 3:2, and that the great deceiver who deceives the whole world, Rev 12:9, would have no foothold.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for whatever we ask in His name He will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, Jn 14:13-14, and all the promises of God are Yes in Him and Amen to the glory of God, 2 Cor 1:20, for He is the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, Rev 3:14.
We pray together now, Father, we thank You for this husband and father who seeks to honor You in a difficult season. We ask You to bless his wife to honor the time frame of visitation and to facilitate communication with honor and respect. Give her a soft heart and a concern born of love for her child rather than for gain, and turn her heart toward wisdom and toward home. Draw her to Yourself, hedge her way with thorns if she strays, bring her to her senses, grant her repentance and the grace to stop sinning. Use every means You choose to pursue her as the shepherd pursues the lost sheep. Protect this young boy, command Your angels concerning him, keep him from all temptation, deception, sin, wrongdoing, fear, lies, and the influences of wicked spirits and evil men. Let his time with his father be filled with Your Word, Your love, and Your righteousness, that he may grow to love You and to love others and to know salvation in Christ. Grant to this father wisdom, patience, peace, and strength to accomplish the tasks before him and to walk faithfully before his family as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, Eph 5:25. Let Your will be done in this marriage and family, and let Your name be glorified. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
