We join you together before our Father in this burden for your marriage, your wife, and your youngster, and we thank you for seeking the Lord's will so earnestly and with so much Scripture.
We hear your heart crying out for peace and for order in the visitation and video time, and for your wife to honor the time frame you have agreed upon. We know that God has called us to peace, and that He desires faithfulness and honor in all our dealings. As it is written, Let all things be done decently and in order, 1 Cor 14:40, and we pray that the hours you have set apart would be respected so that tasks can be accomplished and that time with your child would be fruitful and undistracted.
We also lift up your wife before the Lord. We pray that the Lord would work in her heart by His Holy Spirit who convicts the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment, John 16:8, and that He would turn her heart toward the wisdom of the righteous, Luke 1:17. We pray with you that where there has been hardness or self seeking, the Lord would hedge her way as with thorns, Hos 2:6, not to harm her but to turn her back, that she would come to her senses as the prodigal did and return to the Father in repentance, Luke 15:17, and that she would turn from sin so that nothing worse may happen to her, John 5:14. We ask the Lord to use whatever He chooses, pastors, friends, family, other believers, even dreams and kindnesses, to pursue her as the shepherd leaves the ninety nine to seek the one lost sheep, Luke 15:4, and to bring her back from error, for he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins, James 5:20, and love covers a multitude of sins, 1 Pet 4:8.
We pray that her motivation would be purified, that she would be moved by genuine love for your child, as we are exhorted to do nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility each counting others better than himself, Phil 2:3, and not by love of money, for godliness with contentment is great gain, 1 Tim 6:6. We pray she would do her husband good and not harm all the days of her life, Prov 31:12, and that she would facilitate calls with grace so they go more smoothly and without strife.
For your youngster we pray with great tenderness. We ask our Father who created the heavens and the earth and formed it to be inhabited, Isa 45:18, to lay His hand of protection upon him. We claim His promise that He will put His angels in charge of you to guard you in all your ways, Ps 91:11, and that because he may set his love on God, God will deliver him and answer him, Ps 91:14-15. We pray that you as his father may nurture him as Scripture commands, Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, Eph 6:4, and that your time together would paint a true picture of our God who is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth, Ex 34:6. We pray that this would lead him to love the Lord his God with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength, Mark 12:30, and to love his neighbor as himself, Mark 12:31, and that from a child he would know the holy Scriptures which are able to make him wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, 2 Tim 3:15, for all Scripture is God breathed and profitable, 2 Tim 3:16.
We also pray for his protection from spiritual deception and evil. We put on his behalf the whole armor of God, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Eph 6:12. We ask that he be kept from deception, Matt 24:4, from wrongdoing, 2 Cor 13:7, from fear and lies, Zeph 3:13, and that our Father would keep him from the evil one, John 17:15, and guard him from evil, 2 Thess 3:3, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, Prov 9:10.
We want to encourage you to continue to honor your marriage covenant before the Lord. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman ordained by God, and even in seasons of separation and disagreement, God's heart is for reconciliation and restoration where possible, and for peace and righteousness to reign in the home. Continue to walk in love, in patience, and in forgiveness, letting the Lord be your strength and your wisdom, praying that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:17.
We thank you that you have asked all this in the name of Jesus, for we have confidence that whatever we will ask in His name, He will do it, John 14:13, and that all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in Him, 2 Cor 1:20.
Father, we come together in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask You to cause the agreed upon details for visitation and video time to be honored and implemented. Let Your peace rule in this family. Let every call and every visit be filled with Your words and Your love, forming in this child a gracious and compassionate view of who You are, leading him to know You, to love You, and to walk in righteousness. We ask You to soften and convict his mother's heart, to draw her to repentance and to a love for You and for her child and for her husband that reflects Christ. Protect this young one from every temptation, deception, and influence of the evil one, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Make his path straight and his heart tender to Your Scriptures, that he may gain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. We trust You to work in ways we cannot see, leaving no stone unturned to seek and save what is lost. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, our only access to Your throne, Amen.
