Jesus, thank You for saying, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted," Mt 5:4. Thank You The Spirit of The LORD still binds up the brokenhearted, Isa 61:1. Asking You do me a favor -- Keep me from those who profess to know God but by their deeds deny him, Tit 1:16, have a form of Godliness but deny its power, help me avoid such people as this, 2 Tim 3:5. Heal my heart, Isa 61:1, and mind, Isa 1:5-6 and show Yourself strong, 2 Chron 16:9. Help me forget the things that are behind (in a healthy way) in order to move ahead, Phil 3:13, even toward the upward call, Phil 3:14. Give me wisdom Col 4:12, and direction Prov 3:5-6, to know, Col 1:9, submit to and do Your will as Jesus did in the Garden, Mt 26:39, Mk 14:36, Lk 22:42.

Jesus, You said "My sheep hear my voice" Jn 10:27. Lead me by The Holy Spirit through any and every means to know, submit to and DO Your will, Rom 8:14. Keep me from lies, sin, Zeph 3:13, evil people and imposters, 2 Thes 3:2, 2 Tim 3:14, temptation, Lk 11:4, temptation and the evil one, Mt 6:13, again, and the evil one, Jn 17:5, Jn 8:44, Rev 12:9, Rev 12:12, Rev 12:17. We join with you in this beautiful and scriptural prayer before the Lord, and we stand with you in asking for His comfort, His healing, and His clear leading.

We hear your heart mourning and seeking to be comforted as Jesus promised in Matt 5:4 where He said Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. We thank God with you that He does not leave us in our mourning, for He has sent His Son to bind up the brokenhearted and to proclaim liberty to the captives as written in Isa 61:1. We also remember the invitation of Jesus in Matt 11:28-30 to come to Him, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and He will give you rest, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That rest is part of the healing process you are asking for, the healing of the heart and of the mind where the wounds are described in Isa 1:5-6 and the anguish within as in Jer 4:19.

We agree with you in asking for wisdom and direction. You asked for wisdom according to Col 1:9 that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, and for direction as in Prov 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, so that He will direct your paths. We also pray with you that you may learn to maintain good works to meet necessary needs as taught in Titus 3:14, that your daily tasks would be fruitful and ordered by the Lord. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him as promised in James 1:5.

We affirm your desire to be kept from those who profess to know God but by their deeds deny Him as in Titus 1:16 and who have a form of godliness but deny its power as in 2 Tim 3:5. Scripture instructs us to turn away from such, and we pray for discernment for you to walk in purity and truth, kept from lies and from sin as in Zeph 3:13, and delivered from unreasonable and evil men as in 2 Thess 3:2, and from impostors who lead astray as warned in 2 Tim 3:13. We pray also as you asked for deliverance from temptation and the evil one as Jesus taught us to pray in Matt 6:13 and as He prayed for us to be kept from the evil one in John 17:15, for we know the adversary is the father of lies as in John 8:44 and the deceiver of the whole world as in Rev 12:9.

We join you in praying to hear the voice of Jesus and to obey. Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me in John 10:27, and as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God in Rom 8:14. We ask that the Holy Spirit will lead you by every means according to the will of God, and that you will have grace to submit to and do His will even as Jesus prayed in the garden, not my will, but yours be done as in Matt 26:39 and Mark 14:36 and Luke 22:42.

We also stand with you in asking for grace to forget what lies behind in a healthy, biblical way and to press forward. Paul writes in Phil 3:13-14 forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. This is not a denial of wounds that need healing, but a trusting that God heals and then calls us forward to His upward call. We pray that the Lord whose eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him as in 2 Chron 16:9 will show Himself strong on your behalf.

We bring all of this to the throne of grace with confidence as we are urged in Heb 4:16 to draw near with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need, and with thanksgiving to make our requests known to God so that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus as in Phil 4:6-7.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your promise to comfort those who mourn and to heal the brokenhearted. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would heal our dear one in heart and mind, that You would bind up every wound and restore what has been bruised. Give wisdom and clear direction, fill this heart with the knowledge of Your will, and establish every task for Your glory. Teach us to hear the voice of Your Son and to follow Him, to be led by Your Spirit and to obey promptly. Keep us from deception, from false teachers who have a form of godliness but deny its power, from temptation and from the evil one, and deliver us into Your protection. Help us to release in a healthy way what lies behind and to press forward toward Your high calling in Christ Jesus. We ask for Your mercy and grace in this time of need, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

We have read your prayer and we are sitting with you in it. The way you are asking God for comfort while you mourn, for wisdom for the next steps, and for protection from what would pull you away from Him, tells us how sincerely you want to walk close to Jesus through this.

Grief does not follow a tidy timeline and it touches every part of us, heart and mind and body. It makes sense that you are asking for healing and for help hearing His voice clearly as you try to move forward. Wanting to leave what is behind in a healthy way while still honoring what you have been through is not easy, and God is patient with that process.

One gentle step that often helps in a season like this is to bring just one area at a time to the Lord for wisdom, rather than carrying all the questions at once, and to share that one area with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you face to face and listen well. You do not have to sort it all alone.

Father, we bring our brother before You. Comfort him as only You can, bind up what is broken and bring healing to his heart and mind. Give him clear wisdom and steady direction for each task before him, protect him from evil and temptation, and help him hear Your voice and follow where You lead. Draw him close to Jesus day by day as he looks ahead to Your call. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Blessed indeed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted, and your prayer lays hold upon that very promise in Matthew 5:4. There is a mourning which is the work of the Spirit of Grace, and it is caused by looking to Christ. When the heart looks to Him whom we have pierced, mourning becomes not a despairing sorrow but an evangelical sorrow which looks to the fountain opened for sin and for uncleanness. Though the mourning be bitter as the mourning of Hadadrimmon, it does not itself take away sin, but it looks to Him who does, and there it finds comfort.

You ask for healing according to Isaiah 61:1 and Isaiah 1:5-6, and for the binding up of the brokenhearted. Know this, that healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed upon the Lord's people in Christ. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but His leaves also shall not wither, and they change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. It is not human eloquence nor mortal wisdom which confers the peace which passes all understanding, but the still small voice of God Himself. Fall flat upon the promise of Jesus and He will bind up your heart and make an end to the days of your mourning. When Jesus healed the man sick of the palsy He first said, Thy sins be forgiven thee, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. Ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand, and the healing virtue which His grace has infused will work in you till you are without spot or wrinkle.

You pray to forget what lies behind and to press toward what is ahead, according to Philippians 3:13 and 14. To you the word of the Lord is, Forward, Forward, Forward. Short, prompt, soldier like, here is the whole of it. If you have been sitting down or tempted to go back, Forward. We have long been praying, let us now go forward. Forward, sinner, forward to the Cross, forward to the five wounds, forward to the bloody sweat and to the crown of thorns. What have you to do with fitness, God commands you to believe in His Son Jesus Christ. If He says Forward, and it be into the Red Sea, forward you must go, for His presence goes with you. It were far better to go back to old barns and dingy buildings with the power of God manifestly present than to go forward and become great and intellectual but to lack His presence. Seek first His presence and His power, and then go forward at once and on the spot.

You desire wisdom that you may know and do His will, Colossians 1:9, and direction in Proverbs 3:5 and 6, to submit as Jesus did in the garden, and to hear His voice according to John 10:27 and Romans 8:14. My sheep hear my voice, says the Shepherd. Take heed therefore how ye hear, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Fix the whole mind upon Christ when He teaches, for the healing power was present when Christ was teaching, and He links the healing with the teaching. Lean forward earnestly to catch every word, lest the enemy should steal the sentence that was meant to save your soul. Pray to be led by the Holy Spirit through every means, and to be kept from lies and sin, from evil men and impostors, from temptation and the evil one, as you have asked from Matthew 6:13 and Luke 11:4 and 2 Thessalonians 3:2. And concerning those who profess to know God but by their deeds deny Him, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof, Titus 1:16 and 2 Timothy 3:5, you do well to ask to turn away from such, for we are to have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness.

May the Lord show Himself strong on your behalf according to 2 Chronicles 16:9, and give you wisdom and understanding to maintain good works for necessary uses as Titus 3:14 exhorts, that you be not unfruitful. May He keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him, and grant you to come boldly unto the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need, Hebrews 4:16. May He deliver you from the evil one and keep you from falling, and cause you to stand before Him and to obey His voice.

We pray with you now, that the God of all comfort who comforts those who mourn would bind up your broken heart, heal your mind, fill you with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, make your way straight before you, cause you to hear the Shepherd's voice and to follow Him fully, and keep you from all evil, that you may forget those things which are behind and reach forth unto those things which are before, pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our healing and our pardon, our wisdom and our way, Amen.
