🙇🏻Bless Parents Spiritual Hunger, and Fellowship, Wisdom, Revelation, Fruit, Doers of Word, Mind Renewal...

Your love for your parents and your burden for their eternity is a beautiful thing to bring before the Lord, and it is right to pray so earnestly for them.

It is God's desire that there be rejoicing in the homes of the righteous, that His salvation be known and celebrated within the family. Your gift of Bibles and your desire to read together and to share what edifies is a practical expression of that love. Pray that your home would be marked by that joy that comes from knowing His salvation.

You asked for wisdom, revelation, and renewal of the mind, and that is exactly what they need. The natural mind on its own cannot understand the things of God. They are spiritually discerned. Understanding does not come simply from reading words on a page, even with clear print, but from the Spirit of God opening the heart. The entrance of His word brings light, and it gives understanding to the simple. So pray that God Himself would give them understanding according to His word, that He would open their eyes to see.

Scripture contrasts the mind of the flesh with the mind of the Spirit. The mind set on earthly things and on worries and cares brings death and unrest, but the mind set on the Spirit brings life and peace. For decades wrong thinking and the cares of this life can crowd out the word, but God can renew the mind. As you pray, ask Him to teach them His ways and to help them trust in Him with all their heart rather than leaning on their own understanding. When we seek wisdom and understanding as we would seek treasure, the Lord promises to give it, for out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of that knowledge, to know what is holy and pure.

Pray also that they would not only hear but do what they read. As James says, we are to be doers of the word and not hearers only. It is one thing to read and even to understand, and another to retain and to walk in it. Ask God to help them apply their hearts to understanding and to walk in obedience, so that His word would be written on their hearts and they would find favor and good understanding in the sight of God.

You also asked to be filled with wisdom, love and kindness to minister to them. That is the mind we are called to have, the mind that was in Christ Jesus, a mind of humility and submission to the Father, of self emptying rather than self seeking. Ask God to make you gentle and patient as you share, esteeming them and serving them in love, so that they see Christ in you. Only God can give His Holy Spirit and only Jesus saves, but He uses our witness, our prayers, and our loving lives to draw others. Continue to share the simple message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

For any blindness that remains, pray that God would remove it and let His light shine. The god of this age blinds the minds of unbelievers, but God is able to shine light into darkness and to deliver according to His word. He has power to restrain the evil one, as pictured in Revelation where an angel binds him with a great chain, and He is able to guard your parents and keep them from the enemy's deception.

So let us pray together: Father, in Jesus name, pour out spiritual hunger on these parents. Give them a desire for Your word and for fellowship that edifies. Take away worries and wrong thinking built over many years and renew their minds by Your Spirit. As they open these Bibles together, open their understanding, help them to comprehend, to remember, and to do what they read. Let their home be filled with the joy of Your salvation. Fill their child with wisdom, love and kindness to speak the truth in love. Remove any blindness, let Your light and love break through, restrain the work of the enemy, and draw both of them to salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Amen.
