Beloved of All
đź“–Father, help Parents Read and Understand The Bible Together -- I got them matching GIANT font đź“– Bibles for her birthday đź“–. Please undo decades of wrong thinking, worries and cares. Renew his and her mind. Help them enjoy reading and desire to watch edifying movies with me, help my parents understand, retain and be doers, James 1:22-23. Let me be filled with wisdom, love, kindness and ability to impart the Holy Spirit. Would be a shame if either missed eternity, remove any blindness, release light love and may the evil one be bound, gaged and choked with a great chain by "an angel," Rev 20:1-2. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join you in lifting up your parents before the Father and we rejoice with you in your love for them and your desire to see them hunger for God and walk as doers of His Word. What a beautiful and thoughtful gift to give them matching giant print Bibles, and what a beautiful prayer that they would read and understand together. God delights in that desire for His Word to dwell richly in their home.

We pray with you for a deep spiritual hunger to be awakened in them. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. We ask the Father to create that holy hunger and thirst in both of their hearts, that they would long for His Word more than for daily bread.

We agree with you for wisdom, revelation, and renewal of the mind. We pray as it is written in Ephesians 1:17-18, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened. We pray Psalm 119:18 over them, Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law. We ask God to undo decades of wrong thinking, worries and cares, and to transform them by the renewing of their minds as promised in Romans 12:2, Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. May He lift every worry as they cast all their worries on Him, because He cares for them as in 1 Peter 5:7, and guard their hearts with His peace as in Philippians 4:7.

We also stand with you for them to be doers and not hearers only. As you quoted in James 1:22, But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. We pray that God would help them to understand, to retain, and to joyfully obey what they read, and that their fellowship together in the Word and in edifying fellowship with you would be sweet and strengthening. We pray they will bear much fruit, for the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control in Galatians 5:22-23, and that their lives would show that fruit to each other and to all around them.

We hear your heart cry that neither would miss eternity, and we agree that any blindness would be removed. Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:4, in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. So we ask the Lord to shine His light into their hearts and to draw them fully to Himself, for He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4. We pray for their protection from the evil one, that God who is faithful will guard them from evil in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, and that as they submit to God the enemy will flee as in James 4:7. We trust in the Lord's power to bind and restrain evil as you prayed from Revelation 20:1-2, knowing that all authority belongs to Christ.

And we pray for you, that the Father would fill you with wisdom, love, and kindness as you minister to them. We ask that He would give you gracious speech seasoned with salt in Colossians 4:6, and wisdom from above in James 1:5, so that you may share the Word with patience and gentleness. We remember that it is God who gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him in Luke 11:13, and we pray you would be a faithful vessel through whom His love and truth flow, while the Spirit Himself does the work of illumination and conviction.

Father, we lift these precious parents to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for the gift of Your Word in a form they can read with joy. Kindle in them a shared delight in reading together daily, in talking about what You show them, and in choosing what is edifying and pure. Renew their minds, restore their fellowship, let them enjoy time together in Your presence, and let them be firmly rooted in Christ unto eternal life. We ask that You would open their eyes, soften their hearts, and make them steadfast doers of Your Word, bearing fruit that remains. Fill their home with Your light, Your love, and Your peace, and keep the evil one far from them by Your mighty hand. And anoint their child with wisdom and tender love to walk before them as a faithful witness. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We were so encouraged to read your heart for your mom and dad. Getting them matching large-print Bibles for her birthday was such a kind, practical way to make the Word more inviting, and your longing for them to find joy in reading together and living it out is beautiful.

We know it can feel heavy when you are hoping for deep change after decades of worries and old patterns of thinking. One thing that has helped many families is remembering that growing in faith is usually slow and quiet, more like training for a long walk than a single big moment. There will be good days and slower days, and that is normal. What matters is staying with the simple habits over time.

If it helps, you might keep things light and steady. Perhaps invite them to read together for just ten or fifteen minutes at a set time, and join them once or twice a week to read aloud and share what stood out to each of you. A short prayer together before you open the Word can center your time, and choosing one edifying movie to watch together now and then can give you natural fellowship without pressure.

We are praying for you too, for wisdom and gentleness as you walk beside them.

Father, thank You for this family and their hunger for You. Draw each one closer to Yourself, open their eyes to Your love, renew their minds day by day, and help them delight in Your Word and encourage one another. Give our friend patience, kindness and wisdom as he loves his parents well. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your loving concern for your father and mother is a tender and Christ honoring burden, and I join my heart with yours before the throne of grace for them.

I thank God that He has put this spiritual hunger in your own soul, that you should desire for them not merely outward religion but inward renewal, that they might read and understand the Bible together, retain it and be doers of the Word and not hearers only, as James exhorts us. It is a gracious gift you have bestowed in those large print Bibles, and my prayer is that the Lord will make His Word precious to them, that they may find it sweeter than honey and more to be desired than much fine gold.

We will ask the Lord to undo the worries and cares and the wrong thinking of many years, and to renew their minds by His Spirit. The mind is renewed not by our striving alone but when it is carried by storm by the blessedly reasonable Gospel, when the understanding is enlightened to see how God is just and the Justifier of him which believes in Jesus. May the Holy Spirit give them wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, and make the Scriptures plain to them, for the Bible speaks plain and nothing but plain things.

Above all we pray for their salvation, for we know there is one God and beside Him there is none else, and there is one way of salvation for all. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus, without money and without price, to look unto Him and be saved. It is to trust in Him whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. My prayer for your father and mother is that any blindness may be removed and that they may look to Christ alone and live, for a look does not require a moment and yet it secures the soul beyond hazard. His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep who commit themselves into His hands.

So let us pray together. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this father and mother. Open their eyes to behold wonderful things out of Thy law. Give them delight in reading together, understanding and retaining Thy Word, and grace to be doers of it in daily life. Renew their minds, fill them with light and love, and cause them to bear fruit to Thy glory. Grant to their child wisdom, love and kindness in speaking Thy truth, and let their fellowship together be in things that edify and build up. Restrain the power of the evil one and keep them from his snares, and let Thy peace which passes all understanding keep their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Draw them each to look unto Jesus and be saved, that they may not miss eternity but rejoice in God with full assurance. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only salvation, Amen.
