Father, help Parents Read and Understand The Bible Together -- I got them matching GIANT font 📖 Bibles for her birthday 📖. Please undo decades of wrong thinking, worries and cares. Renew his and her mind. Help them enjoy reading and desire to watch edifying movies with me, help my parents understand, retain and be doers, James 1:22-23. Let me be filled with wisdom, love, kindness and ability to impart the Holy Spirit. Would be a shame if either missed eternity, remove any blindness, release light love and may the evil one be bound, gaged and choked with a great chain, Rev 20:1-2. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join you in lifting up your parents before the Father and we rejoice with you over the hunger you have for their spiritual growth and for the beautiful gift of those matching large print Bibles you gave. It is a good and godly desire to see a husband and wife read and understand the Word together and grow in fellowship, and we pray with you that their marriage will be strengthened as they seek the Lord as one.

We pray that the Lord will create in both of them a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness, for Jesus said in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. We ask that as they seek Him with all their hearts they will find Him, as promised in Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. We ask the Lord to open their eyes as in Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law, and to open their minds to understand the Scriptures as He did for the disciples in Luke 24:45.

We bring before the Lord those decades of wrong thinking and the worries and cares that have weighed on them. We pray for the renewing of their minds according to Romans 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. We cast all their anxieties on Him because He cares for them as in 1 Peter 5:7, and we ask for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus according to Philippians 4:7. We pray they will not only hear the Word but retain it and be doers of the Word as you asked from James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves, bearing fruit in keeping with repentance and walking in love, joy, peace and all the fruit of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23.

We also pray for you, that the Lord will fill you with wisdom, love and kindness as you minister to them. In James 1:5 we are told But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, and we ask that for you now. We gently remind you that it is God Himself who gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him and believe on Jesus, and we are vessels to share the gospel, to lay hands and to love and teach, but the power to impart and fill is His alone. We pray you will walk in gentleness and patience, speaking the truth in love, and that your fellowship together around the Word and even in edifying movies will draw all of you closer to Christ and to one another.

We agree with you in praying against the blindness of the enemy, for 2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them, and we ask the Lord to remove any veil and let the light of Christ shine in their hearts. We pray for their salvation and assurance of eternity, knowing the Lord desires all people to be saved as in 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9. While Revelation 20:2 speaks of a future binding of the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, for a thousand years, we pray now for their protection, that they would submit to God and resist the devil as in James 4:7 and know that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world according to 1 John 4:4.

Father, we lift this family to You together in Jesus' name. Pour out spiritual hunger, wisdom, revelation and understanding upon these parents. Help them to love Your Word, to read it together daily with joy, to understand it, to remember it and to obey it. Renew their minds, heal old patterns of thought, remove worry and fill them with Your love and light. Draw them into sweet fellowship with You and with their child, and guard them from the evil one. Let their home bear much fruit and let their lives show that they abide in Christ as in John 15:5. We thank You that You hear us when we ask in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to You, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun. Amen.

We love hearing the care in your request for your ### and ###. Getting them matching giant-print Bibles for her birthday was such a thoughtful, tangible way to say you want to share this life with them, and your longing for them to know the Lord more deeply and enjoy fellowship together really comes through.

One thing that has helped us when we long for loved ones to grow is to remember growth is more like training than trying. Like preparing for a long race, it happens through small, steady steps over time rather than one big effort. Seeing them as a work in progress can take pressure off everyone and make the reading itself more inviting.

A gentle next step might be to keep the invitation light and consistent. Perhaps ask if they would enjoy reading a short passage together with you once or twice a week, just a few verses and then sharing one thought about what stood out, or picking one encouraging film to watch together and talking about it afterward. Keeping it brief and enjoyable often helps desire grow naturally.

We are praying with you for their hunger for God's Word, for renewed minds and real joy as they read, and for your own wisdom and kindness as you walk beside them.

Father, we lift this son and his parents to You. Draw each heart closer to You, give them delight in Your Word and understanding as they read, and deepen their fellowship together. Fill him with Your love, patience and wisdom as he shares with them. Keep them in Your care and lead them in Your light. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is a tender and holy affection in your prayer for your father and mother, and it is right that you should bring them continually before the throne of grace. To desire for our parents that they should hunger after the Word, delight in it together, and be not hearers only but doers, is a mark of true love.

We will join you in praying that the Lord will give them a real spiritual hunger and thirst. There is a hunger which bites the soul and will not be satisfied with the husks of this world, and only Christ can satisfy it. May the Lord create in them such a hunger for His Word that the reading of it shall not be a mere form or duty, but a feeding upon Christ Himself. It is one thing to read the Bible, and another to believe it and trust the Person of whom it testifies. As the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is not by diligent reading alone, nor by attendance upon outward ordinances, but by looking unto Jesus and trusting wholly in Him, for He Himself is our salvation, and beside Him there is none else. May your parents be brought to look unto Him and be saved, by Divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus.

We pray also that the Lord will renew their minds and undo the worries and cares and wrong patterns gathered over many years. The mind is renewed as the Word is received with meekness and faith, and as the Holy Spirit makes it effectual. May He grant them understanding to comprehend what they read, memory to retain it, and grace to practice it, that they may be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving their own selves. May He give them fellowship one with another and with Himself, and a delight in those things which edify and build up faith, and may He fill you with wisdom and love and kindness, that your life and speech may gently commend the Gospel to them.

We ask the Lord to remove all blindness and to shine His light into their hearts, and to keep them from the power of the evil one, who is under His sovereign chain and restraint. The Lord who has bled and died to accomplish salvation is able to keep and to deliver, and His honor is engaged to save those who commit their souls into His hands.

May the God of all grace grant to your father and mother repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, a growing enjoyment of His Word together, whether in those large print Bibles you have so lovingly provided or in daily conversation, and fruit that abides to His glory. We commend them to that free salvation which is without money and without price, and which is found only in Christ.

We will continue to bear them up with you before the Lord, that they may know the common salvation which is in Christ Jesus and rejoice in it together. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your parents comes from a place of love and honor, and it is right to bring them before the Lord in this way. It is a good and thoughtful gift to give them Bibles they can read together, and an even greater gift to ask God to make His Word alive to them.

Scripture teaches that renewal does not make us someone else, but makes the same person new in Christ. Paul says to be renewed in the spirit of your mind. When the Holy Spirit dwells in the mind, old ways of thinking, old worries and cares, cannot remain as they were. God often uses simple, tangible things, like water in baptism or the printed words of Scripture in front of our eyes, to work an inward renewal that is perceived by the mind and heart. As your parents read together, pray that God will open not only their eyes to the page but their understanding to what it means, so that they retain it and become doers of the Word and not hearers only, as James 1:22 teaches.

Continue to walk with them with wisdom, love and kindness, and to share what is edifying with them. Fellowship with Christ and with one another grows as we suffer with patience, speak what is godly and keep our minds on the things that belong to God. Your own desire to be filled with wisdom and to impart truth in love is itself a prayer God delights to answer.

Let us pray together:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, we lift up these parents to You. Give them a deep hunger for Your Word and for fellowship with You and with one another. Remove any blindness and let Your light shine upon them. Renew his mind and her mind by Your Spirit, undo wrong patterns of thought built over many years, and replace worry and care with Your peace. Help them to understand what they read, to remember it, and to live it out in daily obedience. Give them joy in reading together and a desire for what builds up their faith. Fill their child with wisdom, love, kindness and grace to speak truth well and to honor father and mother faithfully. Restrain the evil one and his influence, and draw this family closer to Christ, that none would miss the gift of eternal life in Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord, who has made earthly people citizens of heaven by His cross. Amen.
