Bless me Lord

Your prayer for God's blessing on your soul, spirit and body is a good and biblical desire, and God truly wants to bless you. His blessing is not a small or cheap thing that comes because we try harder or earn it. In Scripture the blessing God promised to Abraham was, in blessing I will bless you, and that promise was not given through the law or through works, but through faith. Through Jesus Christ that blessing is opened to you. When you put your trust in Him you are brought into the family of God.

The New Testament describes what that blessing looks like. In Christ you are accepted, you have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace, you have an inheritance, and you are sealed with the Holy Spirit who is the guarantee of all that God has promised. You also have the knowledge of His will and His purposes for your life. This is how God wants to fill your life with His goodness, and it is His goodness that leads us to repentance and keeps us close to Him.

You also mentioned attacks that feel like witchcraft. It is important to recognize that our struggle is spiritual and not only physical. The enemy often works in hidden and deceitful ways, and when we do not recognize the spiritual nature of the attack we try to fight it in the flesh and we get hurt. We are not to defend ourselves in anger or to seek revenge in our own strength. God calls us to recognize the attack, to stand in Christ, and to use the Word of God as our defense. The Word is how we resist the enemy and his strongholds.

That also means we do not pray for evil to fall back on those who may be opposing you in order to harm them. God has said that vengeance belongs to Him, and He has promised that He will bless those who bless His people and deal justly with those who curse them. Our part is to keep ourselves in the love of God, to walk in faith and obedience, and to remain in the place of His protection. Scripture warns that it is possible to move ourselves out of that place through unbelief, pride, or hatred, as we see in the examples of Israel in the wilderness and Cain. But when we abide in Christ, trust His promises, and obey His voice, we remain under His covering.

Instead of asking for harm to return upon others, pray that God would protect you, break every work of darkness against you, and show His power to save. Pray also that those who oppose you would see the goodness of God and come to repentance, for God desires to show mercy. Take the blessing you have received in Christ and share His love with others.

We join you in prayer now. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask You to bless this dear one in soul, spirit and body. Cover them with Your presence, forgive their sins through the blood of Christ, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let them know they are accepted and loved in Christ. Guard them from every spiritual attack, let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let Your Word be their strength and shield. Keep them in Your love and in the place of Your blessing, and bring them into the fullness of the inheritance You have promised to all who believe. Bring those who intend evil to a place of repentance through Your goodness, and let Your will be done. Amen.
