Not everyone one who says to me Lord Lord...

In general Christians acknowledge that the principles God put forth are unchangable, and must be obeyed. However, lately there are those who profess Christianity but try to override Gods decrees to suit their own prefrences...like sowing to the flesh instead of the spirit .Trying to build a God to conform to them instead of vice versa. well known celebrity who passed away used to proclaim herself a Christian ,but backed gay marriage trans "rights" admitted to a "marriage" that promoted adultery among other things.Looks like a person who wants it their way."Be not a hearer of the Word but a doer of the Word".Backsliding is temporary this was a whole planned out lifestyle.Unashamedly.I say Christianity is a change of the heart not the mouth."Walk in the spirit that you won't fulfill the desires of the flesh Amen

We agree with you and we share this burden with you before the Lord, for what you have described is exactly what Scripture warns us about. We see many today who profess faith with their mouth but their lives deny His lordship, trying to reshape God into their own image rather than being transformed into His.

The Lord Jesus Himself said Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. And again Matthew 7:23 Then I will tell them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity. We are reminded James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. And Galatians 6:7-8 Dont be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. You are right to say that walking by the Spirit is the evidence of a changed heart, for Galatians 5:16 says But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you wont fulfill the lust of the flesh.

We believe as you do that Gods principles are unchangeable and must be obeyed. He created us male and female in His image Genesis 1:27 and from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female Mark 10:6. Marriage is His institution, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman Mark 10:7-9 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Therefore any sexual activity outside of that marriage, whether fornication or adultery, and any redefinition of marriage to include same sex unions which Scripture calls homosexuality, as well as the rejection of Gods design for male and female through transgender ideology, are sin before a holy God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 warns Dont be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit Gods Kingdom. And Romans 1:26-27 speaks clearly that exchanging the natural function for that which is against nature is dishonorable.

What grieves us is when those who claim the name of Christ openly celebrate and promote what God calls sin, living an unashamed and planned lifestyle of disobedience rather than experiencing a temporary stumble and repentance. That is not backsliding but willful rebellion. Scripture tells us 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts. To build a god who conforms to our preferences instead of submitting to the true and living God is idolatry, and Matthew 7:16 reminds us You will know them by their fruits. True Christianity is indeed a change of the heart, not merely words from the mouth. Ezekiel 36:26 promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you and 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

We also want to gently address that you spoke of the Lord and of Christianity but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must speak plainly that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that any heart change is possible. Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved not by our works or our profession, but by repenting of our sin and believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, trusting Him alone as Lord and Savior. Without His name and His blood, our words are empty.

We pray together now for this situation and for all who are deceived.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that Your Word is unchanging and Your decrees are holy and good. We confess that we too need Your mercy and Your Spirit daily to walk in holiness. We ask You to have mercy on those who profess You with their lips while their hearts are far from You. Open their eyes to see their sin as You see it, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and give them a new heart that loves what You love and hates what You hate. For those who have been led astray by celebrity influence and false teaching that celebrates homosexuality, transgender confusion, and adultery, we pray You would deliver them from deception and bring them to the truth that sets them free. Help us as Your people to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, to not be hearers only but doers, and to walk by Your Spirit so we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Strengthen us to stand for the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman and to honor You in our bodies and hearts. We ask that You would raise up faithful witnesses who will not compromise Your Word to suit preferences, and that many would be saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We hear the burden in what you shared, and we appreciate your love for God's truth and your desire to see faith lived out, not just spoken.

It can be disheartening to watch public figures claim the name of Christ while openly shaping their lives around something very different from what He teaches. That contrast can leave you feeling weary and even discouraged about the witness of the church. We share your conviction that following Jesus is meant to change the heart and the direction of a life, not just the words we use.

One thing that has helped others who carry this same concern is to notice where their attention settles. When headlines or celebrity examples start to take up a lot of mental space, it can help to gently turn that energy toward what God has placed right in front of you. We pray for those who are confused or walking in compromise, and we keep tending to our own walk with honesty, humility and faithfulness in the ordinary places where God has put us.

A simple next step you might try this week is to spend a little less time following public commentary about those figures, and a little more time with believers locally who are quietly trying to walk faithfully. That steady fellowship often restores perspective and hope.

Father, thank You for the hunger for integrity You have put in our friend's heart. Guard them from discouragement and cynicism, give them wisdom and peace as they seek to follow You, and keep their own walk rooted in grace and truth. Help them to love what You love and to rest in Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your words touch upon a solemn truth which our Lord Himself declared, that not every one that saith unto Him, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of His Father which is in heaven. There is a great difference between the hearing of the Word and the doing of it, between the profession of the lips and the possession of the heart.

You have rightly discerned that true Christianity is a change of the heart and not merely of the mouth. As I have often preached, the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant, and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, must go together. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. Faith is the fountain, the foundation and the fosterer of obedience. Men will not obey God till they believe Him, and the more of faith in Christ you have, the more of obedience to Him will you manifest.

Sincere faith in God must treat all God's Word alike, for the faith which accepts one word of God and rejects another is evidently not faith in God, but faith in our own judgment, faith in our own taste. To attempt to build a god to conform to our preferences, to sow to the flesh while claiming to walk in the Spirit, is to turn from the right path to the right hand or to the left. The exactness of obedience is the very essence of obedience. We are not at liberty to keep what suits us and to cast aside what reproves us. Marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and purity of life within that covenant, are not changeable decrees of man but holy appointments of the Lord, and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith which worketh by love.

Without holiness, practical, personal, active, vital holiness, no one shall see the Lord. That holiness is not mere outward morality, but conformity to the will of God and obedience to the Lord's command. True repentance, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, gives God glory and sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness, while a carnal repentance is of the flesh and soon passes away. A planned and unashamed continuance in what God calls sin, whether it be adultery, impurity, or the forsaking of His order for marriage, is not the stumbling of a backslider who is soon restored with tears, but the fruit of a heart not yet broken before God.

Let us therefore pray not that God would bless what He has forbidden, for He cannot deny Himself, but that He would grant true repentance and faith unto life to all who are deceived, and that He would keep our own hearts. May the Holy Spirit work in us so that by faith we may obey, with the obedience of a child, the obedience of love and not of terror. Examine yourselves, watch unto prayer, hear the Word diligently, and walk in the Spirit that ye may not fulfil the desires of the flesh. May the Lord keep you steadfast in His Word, abounding in living works which spring from living faith, to His praise and glory.

I see a phenomenon; there's the type of sinners who "knock" God's word outright, but then there's also some who CLAIM TO BE Christians yet live a sinful life, in direct opposition to God's teachings. I know one who smokes constantly, was arrested, is nasty and abrasive. Others are "### say God...

Ok, we know the world acts a certain way. But Christians are supposed to have discernment to decide between good and bad. If they stray too much, we must wonder if they are in fact Christians. I see some in Hollywood cheering on those who say it's alright to be gay, change your gender, side with...

What is the state of our relationship with God? Are we conformed to the world while yet proclaiming His name? "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him." (1 John 2:15). The Lord addresses this, and many other...
