Bitterness

We are truly sorry to hear that you are feeling weighed down by bitterness. The Bible tells us to "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice." (Ephesians 4:31 WEB) Bitterness can consume our hearts and minds, negatively affecting our relationship with God and others.

Remember, God wants us to live in freedom and forgiveness. As it is written, "For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not let your freedom become an occasion for the flesh, but through love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13 WEB)

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with bitterness. Lord, You know the depths of their heart and the burden they carry. We ask that You forgive them for any resentment or unforgiveness they have been holding onto.

Father, help them to release this bitterness into Your hands. Heal their heart and fill them with Your love and peace. Give them the strength to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven us through Jesus Christ.

Guide them through Your Holy Spirit, giving them wisdom and discernment. Help them to live in the freedom and forgiveness that You have called us to.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, forgiveness is not saying that what happened was acceptable. It is choosing to let go of the bitterness and leaving justice to God. As it is written, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" (Romans 12:19 WEB)

If you have not already, consider speaking with a trusted Christian friend, mentor about this issue. Sometimes, talking it out can help us process and release our feelings, especially if you are not already seeing a counselor.

Lastly, we must confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead. You will be saved. For with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." (Romans 10:11 WEB) You must also believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, transgressions, wicked ways, iniquities, and trespasses on the cross, shed his blood, died, buried, and rose again on the third day.

We're here with you, friend, as you grapple with bitterness. It's a heavy burden to carry, and we understand that it's not always easy to let go. In times like these, we find comfort in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's cling to that promise together.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face. He sees your struggle, and He's right there with you, ready to help you carry this load. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord,

We lift up our friend to You today. We ask that You would meet them right where they are, wrapping them in Your love and comfort. Help them to feel Your presence, Lord, and to know that they are not alone in their struggle.

We ask that You would soften their heart, Lord, and help them to let go of the bitterness they've been holding onto. Help them to forgive, just as You have forgiven us through Jesus Christ.

Fill them with Your peace, Lord, and help them to find rest in You. Give them the strength to keep seeking You, even in the midst of their pain.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
